• Each student must make a prediction on the following population features:
1. How many more people are born into the world by the end of this class?
2. How many people have died in the world by the end of this class?
3. How many more people will be infected with the HIV virus by the end of this class?
4. How many pounds (lbs) of garbage will be dumped into the sea by the end of this class?
5. How many hectares of forest will be taken out by the end of this class? 1 hectare = 2.5 acres

Density is the number of people living in a unit of area. Typically measured per square km.
