The Ascom Global License Server (GLS) is a cloud-based solutionthat allows:

HOW TO GET IT

When upgrading to TEMS Investigation 15.1 or TEMS Discovery Device10.0, you can choose to migrate your hardware licenses to GLS via a specialHASP to GLS license transfer sales item at a small additional cost.

The cost of the GLS transfer is available at substantial savings comparedwith previous network licenses.

When buying a new version of TEMS Investigation 15.1 or TEMS DiscoveryDevice 10.0, you can choose between the previous licensing system or GLS .

HOW TO GET ASCOM GLOBAL LICENSE SERVER

Customer places order (or contacts Global Helpdesk if under valid Software Subscription Premium) for GLS transfer

Ascom Licensing generates 30-day temporary GLS licenses according to amount of licenses thecustomer wishes to transfer

Customer receives online access to temporary GLS licenses and/or new software

Ascom Global Helpdesk contacts customer with details on where to ship and how to correctly labelHW dongles for return to Ascom

Existing RMA process is used to initiate and track return of HW dongles via Service Request ticket

Customer ships HW dongles according to instructions from GHD (Note: must arrive at Ascombefore the 30-day temporary GLS licenses expire)

Upon arrival of HW dongles at Ascom, the 30-day temporary GLS licenses are converted to

permanent licenses with the same configurations as the returned HW dongles

Q: Cool! So I can, for example, move and mix my LTE technology or scanner connectivitylicenses between drive-test kits?

A: Yes! Just make sure you purchase enough licenses for simultaneous use so that noneis left without an available license for that important project.

Q: I like what I am hearing so far. So can I also use this with TEMS Investigation 15.0 andolder releases?

A: No, you need to upgrade any old release to make use of all these benefits. Only thebelow software versions and following releases are currently supported by the GLS.

Q: Can I still choose between the old licensing system and GLS?A: Yes, with the exception of TEMS Investigation 15.1 Replay and Regional editionswhich will only be delivered on the Global License Server. This is due to the cost involvedwith managing and shipping HW license dongles.

Q: In the past Ascom offered network licenses at additional cost. Are you saying this isincluded with the GLS, 24/7, at no additional cost?A: Yes, this represents significant savings for those who want to utilize network licensesor are curious about introducing the concept in the organization for increased operationalefficiency.

Q: I own multiple different versions of TEMS Investigation and the old license keys couldaccomodate them all on a single HW key. How will this work with the GLS?

A: With GLS you can currently have only one software version, for example, TEMSInvestigation 15.x. We recommend that you upgrade so that all kits have the sameversion. If you want to maintain multiple different versions, the old licensing solution is stillavailable.

Q: Can the GLS be hosted in a customer IT environment?

A: No, the GLS is cloud-based and accessible 24/7.

Q: What happens if I cannot access the cloud-based servers? Can I still use mysoftware?

A: Once youve collected a license from the server for your device it is valid for 30 daysbefore it has to be renewed.

Q: How is a license returned to GLS?A: This depends on the return method:

1. Manually by the user license returned instantly2. Automatically after time period set in the TEMS software, provided the device is online.3. Revoked by administrator when the device (laptop/phone) is online

Q: What happens to the license in the case of laptop theft or failure?A: Ascom Support can remove the device once and for all from the GLS and reactivatethe licenses.

GLOBAL LICENSE SERVER VOCABULARY

Concept Description Account Customer record in GLS. Integration with AX secures

same name and account IDs across all systems (CRM, AX, SEREMA, GLS).

Member Person, belonging to Account, who has access to GLSand is able to download SW and allocate licenses.

Entitlement Software that the customer is entitled to download andlicense options that the customer is entitled to activate.

Device A device on which the TEMS software runs. In the caseof TEMS Investigation, this is the users PC. Eachdevice has a globally unique Device ID.

Add-on Any license feature (which is added onto a Device,e.g., a PC): not just optional ones or optional functions,but also the basic license required to run theapplication.
