• Fixed capacity compressors (FCC) cycle off and on to maintain the temperature inside the cabinet.

• Rather than cycling on and off, VCCs run at lower or higher speeds depending on operating conditions – a much more efficient way to maintain temperature.

• When the door is opened and when products are placed in the freezer, the VCC runs at a higher speed for optimal cooling performance.

• When the temperature is stable and the door remains closed, the VCC runs at a lower speed, resulting in lower energy use.
