Go to : “Latinos Breaking ground” go through every box on the top and answer the following questions in Spanish:
What did you learn? Did something make you change your views on the Latino
people? What and why? What did you know about the Latinos before reading this
information? What surprised you and why? Pretend you are a reporter for People en Español, and you
have to interview one of the people you read about. What would you ask? What do you think he/she would answer? Write an article about this person based on the questions you asked and what you think they might have answered you?
Do you think any of the people you read about changed the world somehow? ¿Would the person agree with you?
Go to: “Simple Latin Beats” and answer the following: What rhythm did you like the most and why? What did the rhythm make you feel?o Make your own “beat” and present it to the class
Go to : “Art takes action? and do the following: Choose one of the four paintings you liked and tell me why
you liked it. Make your own painting that represents a topic you feel
strongly about and that you want to show your classmates. Explain why you feel strongly about it.
Go to “Words that bridge borders” and answer the following questions:o Which words did you already know had Spanish
roots? Which new words did you learn? What surprised you ? Why?
Go to: “What´s on the table?” and answer the following questions:
What did you learn? What are some fruits that you can find in Central
and South America? Which fruits are not originally from Central and
South America? What surprised you? Why?
Presentation
Summarize everything you learned and share it to the whole group.
Also as a group or individual think about what parts of the project you can use in your classroom and how you would use them. Share your ideas
with the whole group

Tips Before starting project: meet with
administrators to let them know about this assignment and ask for their collaboration if needed.
