Greetings from Gujarat!

We are excited to host the first cardio metabolic conclave in India.

Obesity and the underlying metabolic syndrome are the strongest driversfor future Type2 Diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD).

The metabolic syndrome is a serious health condition that a�ects about 23percent of adults and places them at higher risk of cardiovascular disease,diabetes, stroke, peripheral vascular disease; and is a leading cause ofmorbidity and premature mortality worldwide. The median BMI of South and East Asians with T2DM is only 24-26 kg/m2,compared with ~34 kg/m2 among Americans. Accordingly, India’s diabetesburden is staggering, with >69 million people a�icted, second only to China.India is predicted to experience the greatest increase in diabetes incidence ofany nation between now and 2030 and consequently CVD. Hence our first annual conclave is designed to create a unifying platform forprimary care physicians, diabetologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists,dietitians, obesity experts; and all those who strive to preserve their’s and theCARDIOMETABOLIC health of their patients!
