Global Business Development Center (GBDC) is founded by theInternational Business Alliance in 2004.

GBDC is nongovernmental organization which provides companies with strategies, solutions and information concerning match business partners to entry emerging markets of the Silk Road region.

GBDC is located in capital of Georgia –Tbilisi. Through its extensive business network and experienced teams “on the ground” GBDC works in 10 Silk Road countries.

OUR MISSION

GBDC strives to facilitate business relations among business communities in the Silk Road countries and prospective western investors and partners.

The historical Silk Road is regarded as the greatest strategic East-West Trade route, the transport corridor on West-East direction from Europe, crossing black sea to Caspian Sea with an exit to Central Asia and China.

The Silk Road countries are rapidly growing emerging markets, conomies with enormous natural resources and investment opportunities.

The Silk Road is the best junction to connect businesses throughout Eurasia and work in the CIS and Asian markets. There are favorable conditions to open the representative offices of the companies in the region.

The Silk Road region is still unexplored markets. The business community throughout the region has a great interest and desire to purchase Western products and technologies, especially from the United States.

GBDC project covers 10 countries of the Silk Road region with the population of over 160 million:Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,Turkmenistan,Uzbekistan.

GBDC has an extensive experience of working for the western companies in the most problematic areas andindustries in the Silk Road countries.In 2004 PA consulting was hired by USAID and KFW to “westernize” the business structure and practicesof Georgia’s largest utility, UDEC. We were hired by PA to communicate their mission to Georgian people. After successful campaign UDEC was restructured and bought by the western company.

We have coincidentally developed partner relationships with biofuel companies with offices in Arkansas,Wisconsin, Chicago and the Republic of Georgia. We have helped obtain financing and Memorandums ofUnderstanding (MOU) for biofuel projects in Arkansas. Liquid fuels from cellulosic/bio-mass may be a critical answer toGeorgia’s energy dependence on Russia as well as America’s dependence on mid eastern oil. The partners will start projectimplementation in Georgia in 2009 year.GBDC has conducted numerous import/export, trade facilitating, market entry projectsfor the western companies in Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia.
