percent of all social media site visits in September

2014.

50.2% of California’s internet population are

Facebook users, and 54.2% of Georgia’s internet

population are Facebook users.

56% of UK consumers use Facebook.

In the UK, there’s an estimated 479 minutes per month

being used on Facebook by each user.

In the US, the average daily time spent on Facebook is

21 minutes, which is 651 minutes per month.

 US figures showed that one out of three people in the

US were visiting Facebook every day.

However 62% of the people in the US have and use

Twitter compared to only 8% in the UK.

The UK is second highest in social media use per

capita with a whopping 57%.

The UK elder generation has taken to social media use

much more than that of the US.

The use of social media however is very similar, and with

advertising and information, looks to be here to stay with

both countries.

The true effects of the social media are global.

It was acquired by Facebook in 2012.

Over 50% of the Instagram population is located

outside of the United States.

It’s most commonly used of adults aging 18-29.

CONCLUSION

With all the variety of social media, there is no end

in sight to the social media craze.

Expanding the depth of social media has its

pitfalls, but ultimately brings communication to a

higher level around the globe.

Social Media is here to stay and grow and can help

society.
