Implementation Case Study 1 & Business value realized– Mangalore Refineries (MRPL-ONGC)

The main objective was to mitigate fugitive emissions or

accidental releases and to facilitate waste water utilization of

the Refinery

GLens as an integral centralized solution aided ease of Integration with Sick Maihak analyzer and

enabled acquisition and monitoring of critical emission parameters such as SO2, NOx using

Modbus protocol.

All the emission data was read directly from Analyser without any intermediator software and data

in encrypted format was transferred real time with 1-minute scan frequency.

Remote calibration functionality enabled and performed at site to test and validate the

performance and data accuracy of the instruments as per QAL 3.

A highly scalable real-time streaming and processing Big data Analytics solution is deployed in

the cloud. Elastic Search and Open TSDB are utilized for data and processing which allows easy

management of data both in and out of the Hadoop ecosystem with benefits of scalability,

redundancy and performance.

Benefits

MRPL was able to mitigate emissions and be compliant of Regulatory norms. They were able to

measure instrumental measurement of leaks, emission from the components were calculated by

using stratified emission factors (USEPA and IED) and total fugitive emission established, and

remedial actions undertaken.

They were able to generate emission quantification Reports as per USEPA..


Case Study 2 – Large scale Data acquisition, Real-time Air Quality (AQI) Monitoring and Analytics

The need to connect to various Air Quality Monitoring stations, Weather stations and analyzers to have a real-time Monitoring and provide Graded response to various Air Quality impacting events for every city in India.

Developed a highly scalable real time data acquisition, monitoring, reporting and analysis solution for Air Quality data and adheres to requirements of EN14181. The data from various Ambient stations, Weather stations and from industry analyzers are uploaded and processing the solution. The Solution calculates the Air Quality Index (AQI) and moving AQI values based on some of parameters such as PM10, PM25, SO2, Ammonia, CO, NOX, NO2, O3 etc., The Solution also provides a Mobile App for City’s public citizens to raise complaints and for authorities to initiate Graded responses actions.
