    To whom it may concern &c.

    The undersigned hereby certify and state that we have long been acquainted with the

    Bearer, hereof, Mr Ezra Ranger of this place. Many of us have been acquainted with him from

    the days of his earliest childhood. He has, for a few years past, been engaged, as a clerk, in the

    best regulated stores, in this place, and has given uniform satisfaction. His English Education is

    good, and well adapted to business.

    The moral character of Mr Ranger has never been impeached, and we beleive it

    unimpeachable. We recommend him to all honorable men, and wish him success, into whatever

    part of our Country, he may be thrown, by fortune, or the spirit of enterprise.
