    Letters Ranger Family

    Glens Falls June 21 st 1846

    Dear Daughter

    We Received your two last letters the last one last evening in which you write that you

    want to come home and see us and that you want to make some preparation for the fourth of

    July. If you wish to come home so as to return again to Cambridge to spend the 4 th of July you

    must write to me immediately and let me know and I will come or send after you in time to take

    you back but if you would like to spend the 4 th at home I would prefer waiting till the 2 d day of

    July before coming or sending for you

    you can do as you please in relation to the 4 th spend the time at home or in Cambridge but write in time for me to come for you if you decide to spend the 4 th at Cambridge you write

    that you want a pair of shoes you can get them there and I will pay for them when I come after

    you

    I am told that you have not any India Rubbers with you for which I regret. you ought to

    have been supplied with a pair and hope that you have not taken cold in consequence of being

    without them

    Mr Spooner has not got along very fast with the store I shall probably get it plastered this week.

    Fred. has been helping me lath it Fred. began writing two letters to you but did not complete

    them. we have been very busy with our work and have a great deal to do, hoing corn and sowing

    Buckwheat which must all be done this week

    Your Grand ma is quite smart and walks sometimes to church and visiting also Aunt

    Betsy is not very well she has pressed too many Hats for her strength

    The rest of us are all in usual health give our best wishes to Mr. & Mrs. Newton

    On reflection I would rather have you spend the 4 th at home as it would [convine?] me

    best in my and to my work but do as you please
