President Jan’s Weekly Words ...
What a wonderful presentation by our Russian Business student Evgeniya Naumova last week. She gave us an excellent insight on her city Irkutsk in Siberia and Russian history. I bet no one knew that Moscow has the most billionaires in the world!
The Watch and Learn Internship program with the American Siberian business school in Irkutsk gives students an opportunity at the completion of their third year to travel to an English speaking country for a month to observe how business is conducted and to gain an appreciation of the culture of the country. Her insatiable appetite for study is commendable, she majors in business management and also studies marketing, psychology, human resources, statistics and finance. After this year she will continue to study for her master’s degree. I am sure she will succeed in her chosen career.
Evgeniya has had work experience at Warrah, Rhonda’s daughter’s firm, Rotary Inter-national Office and next week will spend some time at Youth In Search. Many thanks to Barry Philps her mentor and counsellor and to Annie who opened her home to her for a week
Unfortunately Zoe Rowntree was unwell and unable to come along to talk about her RYPEN experience, but we shall get her back as soon as she is well.
Welcome back Liz & Hans from their LOA and travels to Europe. Good to see you both again.
Slowly surveys are being returned by email, slow mail, or you can drop it in the box at Springfield next week. Your comments will be really appreciated.
Tonight we are celebrating winter, thank Jo & Annette for organising the evenings entertainment.
