Jürgen AltmannPRESIDENT OF
SHADES OF LOVE
Initiator and boss of a trendy bar, Aroma Kaffee in Munich, inveterate Globe Trotter, it is during a trip to Ladakh that Jürgen realizes that local people living at high altitudes are confronted with big vision problems due to the fact that they are not equipped with sunglasses to protect them from UV.He then collects from his customers, glasses in baskets attached to the ceiling of his bar and leaves Germany to distribute them by motor-cycle in the high mountains. Shortly afterwards, he created the association «Shades of Love - The Himalayan Eyewear Project» to develop this solidarity activity. He has been working with his friend Jean, which he met on a snowboar-ding race, for the last four years and has already performed a great trip in Royal Enfield on the Pakistan border to distribute glasses in Ladakh and Zanskar.

Community Manager, video maker, entrepreneur, lecturer, he launches the project Vue (d ‘) Ensemble to federate the visually impaired, blind and people vho sees well around innovative and catchy concepts. An idea that he began to develop from 2009 and the as-sociation Vue (d ‘) ensemble was finally founded in 2012 thanks to extraordinary and decisive encounters. Sportive, he regularly performs run-ning, hiking, cycling and cross-country skiing. Yves is always looking for new ideas that contri-bute to the total emancipation of the visually impaired in different fields: culture, sport, em-ployment, adventure, fashion, etc. He is at the origin of the «Baikal Challenge», a crossing of the Siberian Lake by visually impaired and deaf, in pairs with able-bodied people.

Christine JaninChristine Janin, doctor and mountaineer, is the first Frenchwoman to reach the roof of the world, the EVEREST (8848m), on October 5, 1990, and the first woman in the world to reach the North Pole without mechanical means or sled dogs May 4, 1997.
After the expedition of Everest, she launched in 1992 in the ascension of the highest summit of each continent (Vinson, McKinley, Elbrouz, Kilimanjaro, Mount Carstenz and Aconcagua), the Seven Summits, thus becoming the first European to sign this challenge.
On her return from this extraordinary world tour, Christine meets Hélène Voisin, director of the school at the Trousseau Hospital in Paris: she offers to meet the children at the Hospital, for their tell her travels and exploits. From this experience with children is born a strong idea, that of the parallel between the difficulties encountered to conquer a summit and those experienced to overcome the disease: the diagnosis and the avalanche, the route and the path to healing, the sterile chamber and the bivouac tents at altitude.
It was the beginning of a wonderful adventure: «A chacun son Everest»

tHe exPedition
The project «Glasses for Mustang» is a two-week expedition to one of the most
remote areas of Nepal, on the border of Tibet, where several villages are difficult to
reach, at an altitude of more than 3500m. It consists of a jeep trip from Jomsom (the
main city of Mustang) to Chuksang, then to join the village of Namgyal in a three days
trek and finally the Chonup area, in the upper Mustang. At this location, six parti-
cularly isolated villages receive virtually no visit from the outside. This is where our
distribution of sunglasses will mainly take place.

WHy ?
In the mountains of the Himalayas at an altitude of 2500-5000 meters, people are exposed to strong sunlight - and therefore to harmful UV - throughout the year. Here, about 90% of the population suffers from diseases of ocular lesions and severe eye lesions, whereas it would be very easy to provide them with protection.
The mission is to collect and deliver new and / or used sunglasses to the inhabitants, even in the most remote regions of the mountains. All these sunglasses collected must have UV300/400 protection and each passes through a professional cleaning process before being distributed.

Alice and Yves will show us how they see the world with bad eyes but strong
feelings. All their pictures will be taken in black and white to enhance the
light they still catch, no matter if the photo is sharp or not.
Stéphane and Bruno will be in partneship with Alice and Yves, helping them
finding their way to the right places. They will also take pictures of sceneries
and people, sometimes with the same angle, sometimes differently.
At the end, they will bring back a treasure to share with all of you.
