MN 157 1 Copyright SLWA ©2012 GLASKIN, GERALD MARCUS, 19232000 Gerald Marcus Glaskin was born on the 16 December 1923 in North Perth, the son of Gilbert Henry (Gil) Glaskin and Delia (Del) Mary Glaskin, nee Gugeri. After serving in the Second World War, Glaskin penned his first novel, A World of our Own, which won the 1957 Commonwealth Literary Award. In 1959, he became a fulltime writer and wrote many novels, short stories and poems, in addition to works of nonfiction. He also wrote, under the pseudonym Neville Jackson, a novel about homosexual love, No End to the Way (1965), which was banned in Australia at that time. Gerald Glaskin lived for many years in Asia and the Netherlands, before returning to Perth in 1968, where he died in 2000. GLASKIN, GERALD MARCUS, 1923‐2000 Gerald Marcus Glaskin was born on the 16 December 1923 in North Perth, the son of Gilbert Henry (Gil) Glaskin and Delia (Del) Mary Glaskin, nee Gugeri.
