The focus of Thai – German Cooperation
GIZ THAILAND’S MAIN DONORS
ABOUT GIZ THAILAND
HOW WE WORK
Since the inception of the Thai-German cooperation, more than 300 projects have been implemented by GIZ to support Thailand in achieving its development goals. With Thailand's rapid and successful transformation into a newly industrialised country, the focus of the cooperation shifted from vocational education, rural and agricultural development to environmental and climate protection. Today, climate
change and its integration across key economic sector drives GIZ’s work in Thailand.
We leverage GIZ’s close and longstanding relationship with various ministries, institutes, academia as well as private
sector in Thailand.
Our projects are jointly agreed between the Tha i and the German Government based onthe Thai-German Framework Agreement on Development
Cooperation.
Our teams of national and inter-national experts work closely with partner institutions who receive tailored-made expertise through workshops, trainings
and conferences.
WHAT SETS US APARTClimate change is the cornerstone of the Thai-German cooperation. GIZ Thailand supports the Thai Government to develop its climate change policy on mitigation and adaptation. We support our partners in key sectors to implement concrete measures that contribute to the
implementation of the Paris Agreement.
Private sector cooperation adds impact and sustainability to public donor money. GIZ Thailand is leveraging private investments in the food & agriculture, health and transport and other sectors to complement partners’ strength and
create sustainable structures.
GIZ’s regional centre of excellence for learning - the Academy for International Cooperation (AIZ) Bangkok – offers high-quality trainings and seminar courses in a wide array of topics and management focus areas. AIZ Bangkok works with renowned local and internationaltrainers and customises training services to clients’ needs.
