Giving an ExamView Test Online

Create a Test using ExamView. If you would like your test to be graded for you then you may

only use objective questions (Multiple Choice, True/False etc).

Save that test to your Desktop by clicking on “File” then “Save As”

Choose to save your test to your Desktop by clicking on the desktop icon (see picture below) and

then name your test and click “Save.”

The next step is going to be up to the person who is in charge of your Computers in your school.

You will need to check with that person to determine where they will allow you to house your

test(s) for students to take online.

For the sake of this demonstration, I will do everything from my Desktop.

Open up the test you just created from your Desktop (see picture below).

Next go to the main toolbar at the top of your test and click on “File” then “Publish To” and

finally “ExamView Test Player on LAN” (see picture below).

The following screen will appear after you choose ExamView Test Player on LAN

LAN stands for Local Area Network

Leave the first bubble alone and limit access to students in a particular class. If you choose to

allow access anyone the test will not be graded for you. Click on “Next”

Click on “Save” when the next screen appears and leave the box checked which will launch

ExamView Test Manager after publishing the online test.

Click on “Desktop” and then type in the name of the Test. In my case it is “Test” notice in the

box below test it has ExamView Online Test (*.eot) – This is the format we want to convert our

ExamView test to so students can take it online. Finally click on “Save” (see picture below).
