GIVING SHOULD BE…• Typical, 1

• Church-centered, 1

• Regular, 2

• Universal, 2

• Individual…personalized, 2

• Proportional, 2

GIVING SHOULD BE…• In response to need, and God’s

leading, not emotion or personality, 2.

• Responsibly administered, 3.

GIVING SHOULD BE…(II Corinthians 8-9)

• By God's grace, 8:1, 9; 9:8.

• Joyful, 8:2; 9:7

• Sacrificial, 8:3-4.

• Voluntary (8:3-4), not grudgingly or under compulsion, 9:7


• Result of personal dedication, 8:5.

• Abundant, 8:7

• Motivated by love, 8:7-8, 24.

• After Christ’s example, 8:9

• Based on your ability, 8:12


• NOT to support laziness, 8:13

• Mutual, 8:13-14.

• Based on information! 8:17; 9:1-2

• For the glory of God, 8:19; 9:13

• Handled honorably with accountability, 8:20-23.


• Committed ahead of time, 9:3-5, 7.

• Not diminished by covetousness, 9:5.

• By God’s supply, 9:8-10

• Meeting the needs of the saints, 9:12.


• Producing thanksgivings, 9:11-12, 15

• Producing unity in the Body of Christ, 9:14!
