General notes In this GIS document you will find information on the layout and design of suspended cranes and monorails for loads up to 2000 kg. 1. Crane systems can be designed quickly and efficently using the dimensioning documentation.

Technical notes: − The project documentation is compiled in accordance with current technology. − Only original GIS parts may be used. − The customer is responsible for the stability of the supporting structure. − Painting: The crane equipment is delivered with a grey primer (RAL 7004).

On request, a final coat of the paint of your choice can be applied, or alternatively it may be galvanised.

    2. The technical information and dimensions are given for the components used, together with the order

    numbers.

    3. The form for "Planning small GIS crane systems" has been included as the last sheet in this document. It will make it easier for you to record the required data for the crane system.

Changes Changes in the contents of this documentation will be published via an exchange procedure. The corresponding page will be replaced and extended with a suffix letter after the 9-digit number. Supplements Where the supplement involves additional pages being added to the existing documentation, the page number is given a suffix letter. Signs and symbols

Guide notes for the suspension points of GISKB crane systems The distances between the suspension points depend on the profile size and the load. This dimensioning is carried out according to the diagrams or the calculation program. The type of suspension depends on the situation. The short suspension can be of a rigid or pendulating type. Suspensions from rods are only available in the pendulum version. The pendulum suspensions allow a more simplified assembly, avoiding alignment errors resulting from uneven ceilings. Care should be taken to ensure that the angle of the suspension is not more than 5° from the vertical. 1. Monorails suspended from rods Monorails suspended from rods do not have to be braced, provided that there is no side dragging of the hoist. However, in practice, side dragging cannot be prevented and so bracing is recommended. For rod suspensions of less than 0.5 m, no bracing is required. If the monorail is suspended from rods of 0.5 m or more, it should be braced longitudinally and laterally. Longitudinal bracing should be provided for both track ends and lateral bracing for every second suspension. 2. Suspended cranes suspended from rods If the suspended crane is suspended from rods by 0.5 m or more, the two crane tracks must be braced longitudinally and one crane track must be braced laterally. Longitudinal bracing is to be provided for both track ends and lateral bracing for every second suspension.

    3. Dimensioning suspended crane 3.1 Crane bridge Selecting the profile size depends on the load (P) and span (W) of the profile. The ideal profile size can be deter-mined from Tables 3-1 (single crane bridge) and 3-2 (double crane bridge). Load......... : The weight of the hoist and the trolley is taken account of in calculating the load (P). The maximum permissible load for GISKB III and GISKB IV = 2000 kg. Span ........ : The maximum span for each type of profile can be determined from the table. The maximum span is 11800 mm. The calculations in Tables 3-1 and 3-2 are based on a maximum deflection of W / 400 and a maximum tension of 180 N/mm2. The lifting load coefficient ψ and the dead weight coefficient ϕ are calculated according to DIN 15018. A calculation program is available for other deflection values. Permissible load overhang (y): For crane bridges, a load overhang is only permissible after calculating with the

calculation program. Table 3-1 Single crane bridge span W [m]

3.2 Crane track The span length A is calculated using chart 3-3 (end field) and 3-4 (middle field). In the middle field, the resulting span length is greater than in the end field for the same load. The load PKB is composed of the crane load, the weight of the electric chain hoist and half that of the crane bridge. PKB = PH + P1 + 0.5 x PKT PKB = Crane track load [kg] PH = Permissible lifting capacity [kg] P1 = Dead weight of trolley and electric chain hoist [kg] PKT = Dead weight of crane bridge [kg] Permissible joint spacing (x)..... : The junction of two section tracks shall be at a distance of max. 0.2 x A and a

minimum of 100 mm from the nearest suspension point. Permissible load overhang (y) .. : In general, on crane rails no load overhang is used. Diagram 3-3 End field (EF) Diagram 3-4 Middle field (MF)
