Build best support system in Canada for persons with disabilities, those

with special needs, children at risk, and seniors

3. Lead the world in sustainable environmental management, with

best air and water quality, and the best fisheries management

A Ministry with Four Key Responsibilities

The first step of the transformation was to establish a

government-wide, shared services under the responsibility of

a single ministry, with framework capable of delivering

results quickly – Ministry of Management Services

The ministry focused on four key areas:

1. Services delivery to citizens and businesses …”Service B.C.”

2. Service delivery to the public sector …”Solution B.C.”

3. Service transformation (electronic delivery, alternative service

delivery, bridging digital divide)

4. Office of the CIO …this officer was part of Premier’s cabinet
