The Sonics! There was high expectation.Twoyears ago they played to a near 2500capacity crowd and now we were in theway more intimate albeit soulless 650capacity 229 main venue. We seemed towait for ages, which led to a whole lottadrinkin' until a couple of go-godancersfinally got up to keep our attention 'tilshow time. Then, the houselights wentdown, and the crowd went wild! Iremember goin' crazy with excitementbut sadly my memory refuses to recallwhat the opening song was, typical! How-ever, like the previous time, once they set-tled in to their rhythm and the bullshitproblems with the keys were sorted outthey kicked out 'Have Love','Keep aKnockin','Don't BeAfraid','Boss Hoss' and'Lucille' one after the other transportingmy mind back to some imaginary tiny gigin early 60's Tacoma W.A
