Boarding School: Ideal for the busy dog owner or the family on vacation. Your dog will be boarded and trained at Gillette Boarding Kennels. We will teach your dog each new command and get reliable responses through consistent repetition. Includes private handling lessons. Group Lessons: Ideal for individuals who want to save money and socialize their pets. Our small group size (12 dogs) enables us to give you individual attention. Classes are held once a week and each class lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Enrollments are assigned on a first received basis. Please do not register an aggressive dog for a group class. Private Lessons: Our Best Service. One on one instruction provided at our training center. From puppy head start through advanced obedience. Registering for Classes: For best results please register for a class that you can attend every lesson. By registering for a class you are preventing others from attending that class. Therefore, once your class has started there are absolutely NO REFUNDS- Regardless of circumstance! We must receive your signed registration form, payment, and veterinarian proof of vaccinations prior to the scheduled start date. Registrations received without required proof of vaccinations will not be honored! Verify that your dog has Bordetella – it is required! Whenever possible please choose a first and second choice as classes fill weeks in advance. If you do not make it into your first choice we will contact you the day that we receive your completed registration form. Telephone confirmation will be made two to three days prior to the scheduled start date. If you do not receive confirmation two days before the start day please telephone us. Sign and date your registration form. If you are under the age of 18 your parent or guardian must sign the registration. Classes will not be held on major holidays. Please DO NOT register an aggressive dog (a dog that may bite or injure a person or another dog). Puppy Head Start/ AKC S.T.A.R. A MUST! Early socialization is essential for a well adjusted dog. Covers comprehensive problem solving and prevention, housebreaking, and a fun introduction to obedience commands. Positive reinforcement is emphasized! Flat buckle collars are used (absolutely no choke chains, pinch collars, or head collars!). For puppies 8 to 16 weeks old. First class attendance is required. Please DO NOT bring puppy to first class. Basic Obedience: Help your dog to unleash his/her potential by attending basic obedience training. This course is offered to dogs five months and up. Lessons include general problem solving/orientation, sit/stay, attention training, heel, come, down/stay, and stand/stay. First class attendance is required. Please DO NOT bring dog to first class. Intermediate Obedience: Prerequisite: enrolled dog and owner must have attended Gillette’s Basic Obedience or receive Instructor's approval. Teach your dog advanced commands and get him/her ready for off-lead. Lessons include sit hand signal, down hand signal, finish, stand in motion, stand for examination, control center, stationary watch, moving watch, and discrimination training. Please bring dog to first class. Advanced Obedience: Prerequisite: enrolled dog and owner must have attended Gillette’s Basic Obedience or higher. Introduce advanced exercises and obtain off-lead control. E-collar optional. Please bring dog to first class. CGC Class: CGC is a motivational class that will teach clients the fundamentals for obtaining the American Kennel Clubs Canine Good Citizen award. Testing for the CGC will occur during the last lesson. Prerequisite is basic obedience or higher. In addition to earning your CGC, this class will provide excellent practice and enable you and your dog to perfect previously learned exercises. Please bring dog to the first lesson. Aggressive dogs will not be admitted to this class. Agility: Fun for owners and dogs. Your dog will learn how to negotiate jumps, tunnels, and obstacles.
