AIG Plan in PlaceAIG Plan in Place The three-year Plan for Gifted Education was approved in July 2010 (This is Year 1)

Major Goals:Major Goals: Articulates and disseminates clear,
comprehensive, and equitable screening, referral, and identification processes to school personnel, families and the community
Ensures collaboration among AIG personnel and other professional staff to develop and implement differentiated curriculum and instruction.
Informs parents/families and the community of opportunities available to AIG students on and ongoing basis and in their native language.
Use ongoing assessment to develop and implement differentiated instruction.

Any student in K-12 may be referred by a teacher, a parent, or by self-nomination
All third graders are screened each spring The AIG teacher completes an Individual
Student Identification Profile for each referred student
All data is presented to the school’s Needs Determination Team (NDT) who determines if the student meets district criteria for AIG identification

Students demonstrating 3 or more of these criteria
will receive services in reading and/or math: 87% or higher on standardized aptitude test 87% or higher on standardized achievement test 93% or higher in specific subject area(s) Portfolio of student work products demonstrating above-grade level performance
Two grade levels above (math and/or reading) AIG identification in another district
