Mandela is the myth that most South Africans have lived by The new South African republic was founded in 1994 Founded by Nelson Mandela and his Government of National Unity Social justice, racial reconciliation, and a revised postcolonial humanism was the basis of the new South African republic “Mandela was a leader who strove to be all things to all people” All he wanted was to win the fight against apartheid

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi Born in 1869 Gandhi was born in the coastal town of Porbandar His father was the chief administrator and member of the court of Porbandar Gandhi was raised in a mixed religious environment He was married at the age of thirteen There is not a lot of evidence to support the reasoning behind his hostility to sex At 16 he became interested in celibacy In 1888 Gandhi left for England to train as a lawyer He promised his mother he would abstain from wine, woman, and meat

In 1891 Gandhi was called to bar Two days later he left for India Gandhi didn’t have luck with his legal career in India Gandhi was offered a position at a Muslim law firm in South Africa In 1893 Gandhi sailed to South Africa after accepting the offer South Africa was a turning point in Gandhi’s life Gandhi was confronted with many challenges and unusual experiences Gandhi spent 21 years in South Africa Gandhi made up his brand of Hinduism as he went along In 1914 Gandhi went back to India It was not clear why he left South Africa
