This is to invite nominations for the post of Judicial Member in the ArmedForces Tribunal, which has been set up under the Armed Forces Tribunal Act (55of 2007). There are seven vacancies of Judicial Members in the Armed ForcesTribunal.

2. Schedule 18( column-3) to Rule 3 of "The Tribunal, Appellate Tribunal andother Authorities (Qualifications, Experience and other Conditions of Service ofMembers) Rules, 2017" notified vide GSR 514(E) on 01.06.2017 provides that -

"A person shall not be qualified for appointment as Judicial Member, unless he is,or has been, a Judge of a High Court."

3. In terms of the said schedule 18 (column·.S&6) tt'5the Rule 9, term of officeof the Member is for three years and the maximum age for holding office by theMember is sixty-five years. '"'

4. Salary, allowances, other terms and conditions of the Members g.fth€' AFT,shall be governed by the provisions of the Armed Forces.Tribunal. 5, The selected persons are liable to be posted to anywhere in {~dia having aBench of the Armed Forces Tribunal and the appointment shall carry an All Indiatransfer liabil ity.

6, It is requested that the applications of servlnq/retired Hon'ble Judges ofthe High Court who have special knowledge and experience of Service laws andare willing to be considered Jor the post of Judicial Member in the Armed ForcesTribunal, may be forwarded alongwith their bio-data in the prescribed format, soas to reach this Department by rs'" December, 2017.
