Merry Christmas! While I realize for many the days leading up to Christmas can be busy and full, let me encourage you to remain focused on Jesus. As I prepare for the season, I am reminded that God is faithful and good. The birth of Christ changed the world! Through Christ we can experience true joy and peace. May God bless you as you worship Him and celebrate His birth.

This past year has been a wonderful time in the life of the Geyer Springs. God has blessed as we have seen Him at work in our ministry and in the lives of our people. During this past year our ministry has been blessed to see single adults come to know Christ as Lord and Savior and follow Him in baptism. Our ministry has grown as many have joined Geyer Springs and found this to be a wonderful church home. More than just growth, service and ministry have highlighted this past year. Single adults from Geyer Springs have been involved in missions both internationally and here at home. Our ministry is actively serving our church as well and having an impact in almost every ministry area within the walls of Geyer Springs. As we look ahead I pray for God’s continued favor and blessing on Geyer Springs and our Singles Ministry.

Contained in this newsletter you will find listed the many opportunities available for worship and fellowship during the Holiday season here at Geyer Springs. Be sure to check the calendar throughout the month for the dates and times of events that include your class group. Geyer Springs will offer two services on Christmas Eve. The early service will meet at 3:00 PM and the later one will be at 4:30PM. Geyer Springs will follow our normal Sunday morning schedule throughout December. Sunday school classes will continue to meet during the holiday season. We will not meet for Sunday evening worship on December 23rd and 30th. Wednesday evening events will not meet on December 26th and January 2nd.

Kelli and I would also like to invite you to “Christmas at Club Doug” on December 8th. “Christmas at Club Doug” is simply a Christmas party held in our home for all single adults at Geyer Springs. Our Singles Ministry has grown to 8 groups over the past few years. We are now in three different departments meeting in all three Sunday school hours. This party is an opportunity for our entire ministry to gather as we celebrate the Christmas season. The party is a drop-by event and will run from 6:00-10:00 PM. There will be plenty of food, and children are always welcome. I would love to see you there!

Thank you for allowing me the privilege and blessing of being your Singles Minister over these past seven years. I am excited about the 2013 year and all that God will do in the days ahead.

CHURCH-WIDE CHRISTMAS OUTREACH PROJECT

The JOY Project is our churchwide Christmas outreach project this year. On December 13, we will host a Christmas party for foster children from Saline and Pulaski counties. We have begun to collect items for this party. You will see collection areas in different parts of the church. We have asked different ministries to provide specific items:

*Dec 2 - Ignite PreTeen Ministry Christmas presentation in the evening service *Dec 9 – Praise Connection, our children’s choir, will sing in the evening service. *December 13: The Joy Project Church-wide Christmas Outreach*Dec 15/16 - Celebration Choir and Orchestra, along with XLR8 will present their Christmas special, Night Divine, on TWO evenings - Saturday, Dec 15 and Sunday, Dec 16: 6pm each evening *Dec 24 – TWO identical Christmas Eve services; 3:00pm and 4:30pm

SPRING BREAK 2013 MISSION OPPORTUNITY

Why not take time during Spring Break 2013 to break from your normal routine and get involved in a mission experience? During March 2013 GSFBC is offering 13 different mission experiences for individuals and families. The Singles Ministry will focus on Hondo, TX. We would love for you to join us in serving. From GSFBC head west on I30. Take the Alcoa exit (south) - and follow to Boone Road. Turn right on

Boone Road and take the second entrance on the left into Heritage Farms subdivision (Heritage Farms Road).

Follow to Peachtree Lane (towards the back of the neighborhood) and Doug’s house will be on the corner of Peachtree and Heritage Farms Road. It has cedar columns

and shutters on the brick exterior.

All GSFBC Singles are invited to celebrate the Christmas season at Doug Fulton’s home on December 8. This will be a “drop-by” event and will be between the hours of 6:00 -10:00 PM. Come join us for fun, food and fellowship!
