ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2014 The Annual General Meeting of ECA was held on 19 May in the Telfer Building of Exmouth Community College when 21 members were present. Apologies were offered by 4 members. After welcoming those present and acknowledging the apologies the Chairman presented the Minutes of the 2013 AGM which were proposed, seconded and accepted as a true record. The Chairman then presented his report which is reproduced below. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT My report on 2013/14 will reflect a different, encouraging but rather strange year as your Chairman for the seventh consecutive year. It has been different because, while there has been progress in improving Exmouth the progress has been slower than expected for reasons I will explain, so the pace of our work has eased. It has been encouraging because of the range of developments, both underway and at the planning stage, at a time when many towns are treading water during a prolonged period of national austerity. It has also been a rather strange year because we have not been engaged so much as before in the production of substantial reports, presenting our ideas on how the town could be improved. We have concentrated our energies have mainly on monitoring progress by EDDC and DCC on plans affecting Exmouth, producing commentaries on their proposals and, where necessary, engaging with Members and senior officers. There are fourteen specific developments to comment on briefly.
