Introduction

As a first step, it is best always to login to The Knowledge Network with your athens username and

password. Doing this means that The Knowledge Network is able, automatically, to pass your

authentication details to the publishers’ websites for which we have subscriptions. This, in turn, means

that, having logged in once, there should be no further need for you to provide your athens details.

If you have do not have an athens account :

click the Login link in the top right of The Knowledge Network homepage

(http://www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk) and follow the on-screen guidance.

Beginning a search

After logging in, you can begin your search.

The Knowledge Network offers various ways to search for needed information.

The main Search Box displayed on the homepage offers all of the search options available, while a cut-

down version of the box appears at the top of every other page of the site.
