Getting started with reserving items Start at www.wcl.govt.nz 1 Hint for getting started: ‘click’ means one click on the left mouse button From our website homepage click on Search to go to the catalogues Click on either the Classic catalogue or the Easyfind catalogue to search for the item Click on either the Classic catalogue or the Easyfind catalogue to search for the item you want to reserve You can request an item to be held for you when it becomes available (eg if it’s on loan to someone else), or if you would like it transferred to, or held at, a branch for you to collect from. You can place a reserve yourself anywhere you have internet access and your library card. Any reserve fees incurred are payable when the item is ready for you to collect.

Getting started with reserving items

Start at www.wcl.govt.nz

Hint for getting started: ‘click’ means one click on the left mouse button  

From our website homepage click on Search to go to the catalogues

Click on either the Classic catalogue or the Easyfind catalogue to search for the item

Click on either the Classic catalogue or the Easyfind catalogue to search for the item you want to reserve

You can request an item to be held for you when it becomes available (eg if it’s on loan to someone else), or if you would like it transferred to, or held at, a branch for you to collect from.

In the Easyfind catalogue find your item and at this screen click on Place a reserve here

In the Classic catalogue find your item and at this screen click on Place a reserve here

Type in the number on the back of your library card (eg C123456) and your last name. Click on Enter to continue

(hint – if your number has a 0 in it make sure you enter the number zero, not the letter ‘O’)

Click on the branch you would like to pick the item up from when it’s ready for you

If you’re going away soon tick this box and enter a date so the reserve doesn’t arrive while you’re away

Click on Place a reserve

Your reserve has now been placed and you can see where you are in the reserve queue

You will be notified when your reserve is ready for collection. You can also check your reserves on your library card at any time – see our Getting Started module on Checking Your Library Card Online for more information.

Any reserve fees are payable once the item becomes available to you for collection.
