Create a New TitleOpen Lectora® Inspire from the Windows Start menu or by double-clicking the Lectora Inspire icon on your desktop. From the Getting Started screen, choose how you want to begin building your new title. Select New Blank Title to start your project from scratch, select New Responsive Title to create a blank title for desktop and mobile devices, select Design Wizard for a guide to creating the design and structure of your title or select My Templates to use one of your templates or any of the templates available online. You can also choose Import PowerPoint® to use an existing PowerPoint presentation to create your course.

Design Your TitleIf you used the Design Wizard or a template, most of your design is likely complete! Use the Design ribbon within Lectora to make global changes to the overall design of your title. Designate your title as a SCORM or AICC-compliant course via the Title Options, choose a Page Size appropriate for the intended viewing device and apply a Theme to apply an overall design and interface to your content.

Build the Structure of Your TitleClick the Chapter, Section and Page icons on the Home ribbon or from the left-hand pane to build your title structure. Your title is structured like a book. Use chapters and sections to organize the pages your viewers will see. The left-hand pane of the Lectora Inspire interface provides a Thumbnail View for you to see the individual pages in your title, as well as a Title Explorer so you can view the structure of your content and the objects it contains.

Add TextAdd text to your title by clicking the Text Block icon on the Insert ribbon. An empty text block is added to your page. Additional smart-text objects such as Page Title and Breadcrumb enable you to easily add dynamic text elements to your title. Double-click within any text block to insert or edit existing text. You can also copy text directly from an existing document and paste it in your title. Format text using the text formatting icons on the Home ribbon just as youwould with a standard word processor.

Insert Media, Navigation and MoreDrag-and-drop any of the supported media types for images, audio, video, animations and documents from your desktop or file system into your Lectora Inspire title. Find additional objects on the Insert ribbon and click the icon to insert into your course. You can also create your own media using the integrated Lectora Inspire tools: Create sophisticated screen recordings with Camtasia, illustrative screen captures with Snagit, access a stock library with thousdands of buttons, icons, stock characters and more with eLearning Brothers, and develop branching scenarios using BranchTrack.

Add Tests and QuestionsUse the Test & Survey ribbon to add a Test to your title and place Questions on the pages inside of your test. A test is a special chapter that tells Lectora to grade the questions inside the test and include the results in a final test score. Add questions such as True/False, Matching, Multiple Choice and Fill in the Blank to test your viewers’ knowledge. When you add a question to your title, the Question Creator provides options for defining the Question, Feedback and Attempts.

Preview and Test your TitleLectora has three basic modes: Edit, Run and Preview. These modes enable you to edit your title (add images, reposition objects and access object properties, for example) and immediately preview its functionality. Your title is in Edit Mode by default. To test functionality and interactivity in your title, click the Run Mode or Preview Mode icons on the View ribbon or on the ever-present status bar at the bottom of the application. Run Mode enables you to preview your content while still keeping the Lectora interface and your left-hand pane in view, while Preview Mode enables you to preview your content outside the Lectora application. To exit Preview Mode, hit your ESC key.

Using ReviewLink, external reviewers and subject-matter experts can access your published title and provide their feedback by submitting comments and attachments for content revisions and modifications. Select ReviewLink from the Publish options on the Home ribbon in Lectora and follow the on-screen instructions to publish your title and make itaccessible to external reviewers via ReviewLink.
