Part 1. YOUR 1ST 48 HOURS: DO STEPS 1-12

1. Determine your Goals and WHY’s!Write down specifically, “Why I’m building my Mannatech Business.”Be sure to give a copy to your coach. If you don’t know where you want to go then how are you going to get anywhere? If your coach doesn’t know why you are in this business and where you are going it makes it veryhard to help you achieve anything. Be serious about doing this step – it’s important. You have to envision your goals and dreams every day to create drive and motivation and one of the best things you can do to achieve that is to create a treasure-Map.The following is from my coach’s book “MLM Pitfalls Your Upline Never Told You About – And How to Stop Them from Destroying Your Business” on Treasure-Maps:

Pitfall # 40. Not having a Treasure-Map.

A Treasure-Map (or a vision-board) is simply a poster where you put you pictures, words and phrases that represents your vision of you perfect life. You know, how your life will look when you have reached your goals. The mind works in pictures so it’s important for you mind to see everyday what you want, so it can help you materialize it.

There are lots of good dream-building magazines like the “Robb Report” where you can cut pictures out of. Remember not just to put pictures that represent material wealth, but also something that represents personal qualities, like integrity, strong leadership, super prospector, friendship etc.

You can also put words and phrases that represent these qualities.Like “Awesome coach”, inspiring trainer, fast duplicator, leader of leaders, great father etc.

I learned from my coach Peggy Long to put at picture of the people, that I coach with their goals up on my Treasure-Map. That is one of the first things I do with a person that I start coaching and it has a profound effect on you and the person and the relationship between you.

Should you have only one Treasure-Map? Of cause not. Your visions of what you want will change throughout life and as you (hopefully) achieve the goals of your first Treasure-Map you can build new ones.

A great activity to do with your team is to invite them to a Treasure-Map night, where you all bring magazines and build your boards together. This is a great way to have fun and build relationship and team spirit.

Page 5: Getting Started Right

2. Fill out the clarity and commitment form with your coach. If you don’t have it then ask your coach to send it to you.

3.Get Connected with your Team Online Communication. This is also one of the most important steps you can do. This way you make sure you are beingupdated and educated about the business. MAKE SURE that everyone on your team is alsoconnected. This will automate your business tremendously and your business will duplicate mucheasier.

3.1 Subscribe to the “Success Tracker” at www.Mannatech.com Click on “MannatechCommunity” then click on “Your Business” to register for the “Silver Success Tracker”. It’s FREE until you have 15 team members. This is “the best tool” for staying on top of your business activity. Once you exceed 15 team members, upgrade to the “Gold Success Tracker”.

4. Book your trainings for the first 90 days

4.1 When will you attend your first training? (date) ___________ at______________________________________________________________ (location)Take your calendar and put in every training in the next 90 days.Make a commitment to attend as many as possible. Training is the key to success.Without training it’s like a lottery - you might win If you sign up the right 2-3 people but without skills it is just as likely to happen as winning the lottery.

Remember – you will get a serious education in this business. But if you don’t come to the trainings it’s not going to work. I can tell you that in my coach’s 15 years in the business he has never seen anyone go to the top if they didn’t attend training on a regular basis.

Not everybody that comes to the trainings makes 10.000 a month - but everybody that makes 10.000 months comes to the trainings.

So make room for the trainings – get serious and take responsibility for improving your skills and you will become a professional.Ask you coach what other training they recommend for being trained to become a professional.

5. Book your first in home Presentation__________ (date) at ___________ (location) (2-3 weeks from now)

6. Secure your incomeGetting on Automatic Monthly Order (AO) for 100+points/month, will secure that you get your bonus checks. Chances of making it to the top are significantly higher for people on AO and I have never met a successful person that was not on AO.

7. Get to know your support team members ( everyone is here to support you! ) This step is so crucial and in my time I have met maybe a maximum of a couple of handful of people that has actually done it. That’s probably why so few are really successful in this business, because they simply do not do the necessary steps.

Call your upline support team at least up to your first silver presidential and introduce yourself tothem, and tell them what you committed to achieve in this business. Ask them how they may be able to help you and DO NOT FORGET to make them tell their story. It can be worth gold to you.

8. Order sales and training tools.

Get ready for explosive growth: Have material to give to your prospects. If you don’t have anyProspecting material - you are out of business. Ask your upline if you can buy material from him/her right away and if not you can buy them at www.glycotools.com Look at appendix for recommended material and ask your upline for advice about what materialworks best. Until you get the tools, you can direct your prospects to numerous internet resources.

Page 7: Getting Started Right

To see an example of what I send to people, go to www.exploremannatech.com and check out all three sections.

DO NOT – I REPEAT, DO NOT USE YOUR TIME THINKING ABOUT HOW TO WRITE A CLEVER SALESLETTER OR WHAT TO WRITE IN AN E-MAIL.

Your time should be spent the first month talking to people. Everything else is a waste of time.Use the system and use the e-mails and material that we are already using with success. Also see appendix for crucial training material and ask your coach what he recommends you startwith.

9. Book your first prospecting session.

Book a session with your coach within the first 3 days to start talking to your prospects.IT IS CRUCIAL that you don’t try to do it by yourself. WHY?You are setting yourself up for failure by doing this because of several reasons. The most obvious is that you are not experienced enough yet to really explain about the products and the business and you cannot handle most objections.Work closely with your coach the first 30 days or until he/she tells you that you are good to go byyourself.

10. Make your master list.Your master list: Everybody I Know … Or Want to Meet …

If there is one critical cog in the machine, it has to be “The List”.According to Reader’s Digest, the average 21 year old can recall the names of over 500 people. Then why do some of us have difficulty in making a list of 100?It is very important to explain to new distributors what precisely you are looking for when it comes to list building. A Master List consists of EVERYONE that knows your face, your name, or wouldremember you during a 30 second phone call.

Now is not the time to prejudge! Self-doubt often occurs during list building. “Bob is a successful doctor. He would never be interested in this.” Never prejudge!Maybe Bob has a huge mortgage, or kids about to attend college, or a wife who loves nutrition. Asyou write down Bob ’s name on your list, you may remember his sister Kate who is an aerobicsinstructor. Put everyone down on your list! Let them decide whether or not they want to get involved.Just be a messenger, not the message. I’ll let you in on a secret: the best people that come into your business will be referrals from people you know. Think about that.

How do you build a million dollar Master List? Follow these four stages:

Stage 1: BrainstormThink! Harder! Every time a name pops into your head, write it down. Don’t worry about phonenumbers and addresses, there’s time for that later. The physical act of writing causes a flood ofmemories and more names will follow. Think of events and situations and walk backward throughyour life’s memories. Don’t worry if all you have is a first name or title like “Bob’s sister”.Pull out every name in your day timer, rolodex, Christmas card list, and checkbook.

Stage 2: Memory JoggersGo slowly through each category looking for memory triggers. Work slowly and concentrate onobscure faces and people you’ve only met a few times.

The Memory Jogger.

Page 8: Getting Started Right

Family members (Beware! Sometimes family are the most negative business contacts. But they are good to practice on and they may have referrals for you.)Family friends, neighbors, people you work with, people your spouse works with, people you dobusiness with (pull out your checkbook and see who you gave money to last month. Will they support your business?) doctors, lawyers, barbers, merchants, grocer, gas stations, laundry, postman, insurance broker, hairdresser, church members, civic groups, Rotary Club, JC’s, Elks, Moose, Water buffalo lodges, school groups, PTA, bingo buddies, past associates, schoolmates (use yearbook) , former co-workers, college or army buddies, gym rats, aerobics, cycling, plays tennis, golf, real estate appraiser, loves their job, hates their job, lost their job, accountants, dentists, does home repairs, has little kids, has big kids, has a new car, sold you your car-home-clothes-furniture insurance, eyeglasses-shoes, teaches school, was best man, got married, works in a bank, has pets, has asthmas, has a cane, lives our-of-town, out-of-state, has a computer, works in a factory, always is busy, is in sales, is retired, lifeguard, has a pool, soft drink distributor, librarian, horse trainer, highway patrolmen, railroad ticket agent, motel owner, etc. etc.

Stage 3: The Yellow PagesPull out the phone book and open it to the Yellow Pages. Slowly go through the categories looking for more memory triggers. Think of who you know that is involved in the various industries listed. Who owns a business or works for a business like the ones listed?

Stage 4: AssociationIt should take at least 45 minutes to get to Stage 4. Go back over your list, and name by nameconcentrate on past memories. Who do they know? Who are their friends and relatives? You should be able to expand your list by 20-30% with this method alone. One of those contacts may be a future Presidential!

The secrets of a Master List are:1) Don’t prejudge2) Be creative3) Have fun making it4) Spend at least 45 minutes on it, and most importantly,5) WRITE IT DOWN!You’ll be amazed to find yourself adding names daily, and within a week you’ll have several hundred names.

Select the best! Your Hot List.

You will want to create a HOT LIST from your Master List. Your HOT LIST is what you will use tobegin building your business, and people who you will want to contact immediately. Create a hot list of about 20 people who are success-oriented, positive-minded, have shown interest in nutrition or physical fitness, are currently dissatisfied with their present income and interested in extra income and freedom, or involved in business or sales. Transfer their names to your Hot List.

Remember! You are looking for good people’s opinions. Never be intimidated by reputations or credentials. The only things someone can do after a presentation is get involved, give referrals or say no.

Your five hottest prospects will be selected for personal presentations within the first week with you and your sponsor. This commitment to action creates momentum. Remember, all you are trying to accomplish with a phone call is to set an appointment, not sell anybody anything! With your sponsor either beside you or on the other line with 3-way calling, book 5 appointments to meet for coffee and share the Mannatech story.

By the end of your first 10 days in the business, you should have 3-way calling on your phone line, you should have sat down with your top five prospects along with your sponsor, and you should begin 3-way calling the Top 20 to find out their interest level. Congratulations! Massive action today will pay off with massive results tomorrow.

12. Get business cards. Its important to have card for people to show them you are serious about your business.Go to www.vistaprint.com for good looking really cheap cards. (you can even get 250 for free)

Congratulate yourself - you have completed the first steps that will ensure your success. Most people never do these steps – that’s why most people will never succeed.

You are now becoming a very special breed of person. That doesn’t mean you will not fail - on the contrary - you will get frustrated and probably lose faith. This is natural and everybody will go through these phases. If I ever lose faith or vision I just read the following to myself or aloud, and I get back on track again - I urge you to read it to yourself everyday for the first two weeks in your business and every time you feel frustrated.

Whatever It TakesI am committed to doing “Whatever It Takes.”

The die has been cast. I’ve stepped over the line. I am out of my comfort zone.MY decision has been made. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, or back away.

I am finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tame visions, mundane talking, cinchy giving, and dwarfed goals.

I can not be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, diluted, or delayed.I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, Hesitate in the presence of adversity, Negotiate at the table

of the enemy, Ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.I AM COMMITTED TO DOING/BEING……. Whatever It Takes!!!!!!!

(Thanks to Peggy Long for giving my coach this!)

Part 2.

Page 16: Getting Started Right

Moving forward and understanding the business at a deeper level.

13. Getting Past the Roadblocks. One thing that you can be sure of. YOU WILL HAVE CHALLENGES AND YOU WILL HIT THEWALL.

You have to realize that it is expected and unavoidable to feel frustrated and a multitude ofother negative feeling.

To understand this further go to page 21 to read Essential success Principle # 6.You also need to look out to not fall into the most common trap in building the business – that is to get into the management phase.

To explain this in detail here is a description of the different phases you can be in, in our kindof business.

These are “The five common phases in building a Networking business”:

1. BUILDING PHASE: The building phase is where you build customers, add people to your downline through sponsoring, and generate new distributors pursuing a leadership status. This is the working phase of the business that brings in new people and strengthens your leaders as they become Maximum Leaders themselves.

2. MANAGEMENT PHASE: Once your business is building, there is a temptation to go into themanagement phase. This is where you start to confuse activity with accomplishment. Too much time is spent watching, overseeing and managing your group, when you should be building. People in this phase find themselves majoring in minors. At the end of each day as the question, “if everyone in my group did what I did today, would my bonus check go up or down?”

3. DEFENDING PHASE: Those who slip into the management phase seem to end up on thedefending phase. This is where you hear, “If I don’t do it, no one will,” or “My downline can’t do it so I have to do it for them.” What are they defending? They are defending why they are not spending time in the building phase. They will use all kinds of excuses but the reality is that it’s easier to talk to someone else’s prospect than to find your own. So they just make excuses. Unfortunately these excuses don’t help their bonus check and people in this phase will usually get a wake-up call around bonus check time.

4. BLAMING PHASE: The defenders slip immediately to the blaming phase where they begin toblame others for their lack of success. Maybe it’s a meeting that is in the wrong place at the wrongtime for them, or the presenter at the meeting did a poor job, or some tool that they can’t get, or the order line that is always busy. Whatever it is, people in the blaming phase blame someone else for their lack of business success.

5. PHASE OUT: After managing, defending and blaming, the only phase left is to phase out! These phases of the business are checkpoints. If you see yourself in any phase of the business other than the building phase, know what the result will be and guard against it. Teach these principles to your downline and help them understand that the only way to experience true success with your business is to consistently be in the BUILDING PHASE.

Help new Distributors to make a minimum of a one-year commitment to their Mannatech business, no matter what. If they understand this cycle from the beginning, they will be better immunized against it.

Page 17: Getting Started Right

Communication with new Distributors on a frequent basis is very important. It is critical to have your new Distributors at all events in the first 3-4 weeks to counteract this effect.

VERY IMPORTANT: Always GO through the Clarity and commitment form with a new person. In this you will go through explaining that everybody goes through phases with challenge and the new associate makes a commitment that they will continue even though they are experiencing frustration.

If you know these roadblocks and expect them, they will not wipe you out. Remember toexplain these things for everybody in your downline and you will have a lot less people drop out and more people moving past their roadblocks and become leaders.

Please trust me when I say that I have been there – I have had my share of fear, frustration andconfusion, and hopelessness - I have moved past it and I know you can too.

Never lose the faith in yourself and the power that you hold to change your life and the lives ofthousands of other people.

Never feel too small or proud to call your upline and tell them that you feel stuck and you need help. That is what we are here for and this is what makes this business the best in the world.

I believe in YOU.

14. Get to know Mannatech.

By now you should have received your start-up package.Invest some time in familiarizing yourself with the contents - remember to write down any questions you might have and ask your upline. Also get to know the Mannatech site and Mannatech community, and write down possible questions and ask your upline about anything you don’t understand.

15. Know where you are and where you need to go.The next step for you now, apart from doing lots of calls and presentations with your upline coach is to start using the Bulls eye to success.

The “Bulls eye to success” chart is a very essential tool in our training system.Look at page 19 to see the bull’s eye to success chart. You have to be a 100% in each and every area to get to bulls eye. You start from the outside andbefore you can go on to the next circle you have to have a 100% belief in each area.Rate yourself in every area, and if you are not 100% then ask yourself “What can I do to get to a100%? Then make a plan to get to 100% and execute it?

If you don’t know how you can get to a 100% then what do you do? You ask your upline. And remember – it’s your responsibility to educate yourself and it’s your responsibility to ask forsupport if you need it. Your upline support team is here to support you and make sure you reach your goals, but we cannot and will not force-feed you.

Don’t be shy or feel awkward about asking for support - that’s what we are here for and believe me – your problem or challenge you are having is not unique. I will bet 100$ that whatever challenges you are having, that I have had exactly that happening in my life and career. So JUST CALL. – we are here for you – I really mean it.

Page 18: Getting Started Right

BUT before you call and e-mail me or your Upline, then ask yourself” Can I do this myself? If you can, then do it yourself. We are here to support to reach your success and do the business with you, but not to DO the business FOR you.

Rate your self in every area from 0 – 100% ( Look at next page to see the bulls eye to success)

16. The essentials. There are a few basics in this business you have to do on a consistent basis to get to success here they are.

The 4 Essential Actions Steps.1. Use the products.2. Talk to people.3. Take Initiative (Be Proactive).4. Improve constantly and never give up.

If that doesn’t work - take more products, talk to more people take more initiative andimprove some more.

Know and follow the 7 essential principles.

1. Essential success principle. Follow the system. Copy Your Leaders And Follow The System. Success Leaves Clues.Successful people think feel and act differently than normal people do.You cannot learn success principles in school.Follow your coach and copy him/her - If that doesn’t work - get a better coach.

2. Essential success principle.RYBLAB = Run your business like a businessIf you treat it like a business it will become a successful businessIf you treat it like a hobby it will become an expense. If you treat it like a business you will study books, you will attend seminars, you will read special reports and newsletters, maybe you even hire a coach who is an expert in your field.

3. Essential success principle.Understand the success triangleThere are 3 things you need to master to succeed in this business.1. TK = Technical knowledge2. EC = External Communication3. IC = Internal CommunicationLearn more about people and communication than your products and compensation plan and you will profit beyond your wildest dreams.

There are only 4 things you need to know in the area of technical knowledge:1. What is Network marketing – why does it work?2. Who is your company – strengths weaknesses?3. How do your products work?4. How does your compensation-plan work?

Note that almost all TK you can learn yourself and you don’t have to know it inside out. You just need to have a 100% belief in each area.

To move products you have to be able to move people. To move people what do you have to be able to do first? Move Yourself! If you cannot grow, you are stuck. If you are stuck, your business will be stuck.

4. Essential Principle.Distributors come and go - leaders stick. This business is ultimately about leadership development. Guess what you have to be first, before you can develop leaders? A leader of cause. Write down the traits you would like to see in the people you have in your downline and start to

Page 21: Getting Started Right

develop them in yourself.

5. Essential success principle. The secret is in the process - You learn by doing. You can get a lot of help from seminars books and tapes and seminars but if they don’t move you to take action they are worthless. Only action will create mastery and understanding.I cannot stress this enough – you have to do it – talk to people to become a master.

6. Essential Success Principle.Everybody goes through the same things.Understanding this principle is one of the most important of them all.We all go through feeling of Frustrations, anger , irritation, nervousness , worry , confusion, the urge to give up and have thoughts like “This is probably not for me”.

What will make the difference between success and failure is not weather you can avoid these feeling but weather you can handle them or endure them for a while.Just know that those feelings will not last forever - just keep on and you will get to success andfeeling great about every part of this business.

Success is not normal - we have to be able to something the normal is not going to do to have thethings and the freedom they are never going to have.

So suppose that you encounter frustrations and fear - what are you going to do?Continue or stop?? That’s up to you.

Are your goals important enough for you to go through a lot of rejection, frustration fear?Write down the 20 reasons you will never give up and why these reasons are more important thanavoiding negative emotions.

If avoiding frustration fear nervousness, inadequacy, anger, worry, confusion is more important than reaching your goals, then this business is not for you.Get a normal job and just forget that there is something called network marketing.

7. Essential Success Principle.Know your goals and whys.If you don’t know this all the other stuff doesn’t mean anything because you are going to give up.Knowing your goals and whys is essential.Remember - The bigger the goals the bigger the motivation.

17. Getting organized.Being organized is essential to long term success. Here are the basic essentials on gettingorganized.

1. Use the AAA form to help track your business activities. Ask your coach for a copy.

2. Get 3-way calling on your phone - it is the lifeline of your business. If you do not have 3 way calling on your phone, order it right away from your local phone company (including your cellular phone) and know how to use it. The FASTEST way to earn serious income is by doing 3way calls with your team!

3. Set your work schedule, and actually BLOCK OUT your time every week for the next four weeks. 80% of your time for the next month should be spent prospecting, presenting and following up with your prospects. Remember to do your follow up phone calls with your team members. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking you need to know everything about the products and business opportunity. You’ll be learning as you are earning.

Page 22: Getting Started Right

4. Understand the 13 business period calendar; it is critical that you and your team are on AO(automatic order) for at least $100 every business period. If you don’t have an order for$100 you WILL NOT get paid that business period!

18. Structuring your organization for maximum profit.Get Clear on how to build your organization - where to put new peopleNo matter what presentation you use for bringing associates into your Mannatech team, it is HIGHLY recommended that you build ONLY two team driven legs at a time. The goal with this approach is for everyone to drive 2 Legs deep until you are a National Director.

Enroller: The person who has the relationship with the person being signed upSponsor: The person who is above the person being signed upFocus on Building TEAMS

Your first step is to develop your own team. As you register people write their names in the spaces provided. Next, work with your people to build their own team of six people so that they get their team bonus. This is securing your residual income.

After you complete your team ( 2 x 3 ), it is recommended that you place your personal enrolleesstraight down in Leg 1 of the people below you. This will create an incentive for the people who are not sharing the product to find just 3 people so they can get their team bonus. We know that most people who get their team-bonus every month will stay on the products!Get familiar with Success Tracker so you can keep an eye on how your organization grows and know where to place people. If you have questions please council with your Team Leaders.

Get to Presidential with 55 business builders.

Getting to presidential is not that hard if you focus on the right kind of actions. What you need is just this: You find 3 people that find 3 people that find 3 that find 1 each.

392727= 66 business builders

If everybody in this example has 10 product users each then you have 660 product users + 66business builders + your own 10 customers = 736 people X 100 points + 73.600 Points.

This is more than enough to get to presidential and you can actually do it with 55 business builders.

Focus on getting 10 product users and just 3 business builders and getting them focused on thesame thing. Why is this so effective? It’s attainable and it’s believable and therefore it gets done.

19. Making Personal Presentations.A successful Personal Presentation occurs when you invite properly, present accurately withenthusiasm, and follow-up promptly.Personal Presentations can be conducted in the home, at a restaurant or anywhere you can meet

Page 23: Getting Started Right

with your prospect. In the beginning, your sponsor or upline may make the first few presentations with you until you are ready to conduct them yourself.

A 2-on-1 meeting can be done using the phone (three-way calling), or in person. Both ways haveadvantages. By using the phone, you can cover more ground quickly. You can talk to a lot of people in a short period of time. A 2-on-1 meeting in person is very effective as well because you can build more rapport between your sponsor and the new prospect.

Let’s look at an “in person” meeting. You would set up an appointment with your prospect via a threeway call. Use an appropriate script from the Inviting section of the manual. Be sure to always give your sponsor an incredible introduction to create their credibility as “the expert”. It will create curiosity and excitement in your prospect.

Before meeting with the prospect, be sure to tell your sponsor about the prospect’s talents, hobbies, interests etc. It will make it easier for your sponsor to create rapport. In fact, the purpose of the first 5 minutes of your meeting is to do just that, create rapport.

The next 5 minutes should be used to find our whether this person is qualified to work with byfinding their needs and how serious they are. The next 15 minutes of the meeting, go through the presentation. In doing so, you will learn how to do the same after a few presentations. At the end of eachappointment it is important to have a clearly defined next step. Is your prospect going to come to aBusiness Briefing? Confirm the appointment. Is she going to listen to a Conference Call?Write down for her the date, time, and listen number for the conference call. Is she taking home an audio CD to listen to?

Confirm a follow-up appointment or call to get feedback and place an order.Helping your new Distributor with 2-on-1 sponsoring builds loyalty. If someone teaches you how to do this business, helps you bring in your first four or five new Distributors and teaches you how to make real money quickly and for the long term – you’re going to be pretty loyal to that person.

You can’t buy loyalty, but you can earn it. And there’s no better way in our business than 2-on-1sponsoring. It’s the key to building and keeping a growing network of highly successful NetworkProfessionals.

20. Tips For Leaders.

This is just a few pointers and tips for leaders. If you want to go to the top it is important that youconstantly educate yourself. This manual will be followed by a manual for leaders. It is not published yet – expected to be out in Around August 2005.

1. The security is in a deep downlineNot a wide, so to ensure a large productive and deep downline:

2. Put each person you sponsor in a position where they have something to lose if they quit. You do this be helping them build a downline immediately. Go with them to their first fivepresentations and help them sponsor new Distributors NOW.

3. Commit your best people to pursuing Allstar pack ASAP.You will guarantee your income by getting your strong people on track to becoming leaders. It’s only through creating leaders that your group will truly duplicate.

Page 24: Getting Started Right

4. Sift quickly through your downline and find the leaders early.Work with those that deserve your time, not those that need it. Don’t think you can make peoplesuccessful. They must desire success themselves. Most often, the leaders will emerge several levels down below you, and they will find you. Devote personal attention to your leaders. Move with the winners and run hard together all the way to the top. Work with those that go the extra mile. The common denominator of all successful people is that they take responsibility and do the things that those who fail won’t do.

5. Empower your people to become strong, independent and take responsibility yourself. If they can do it themselves - don’t do it for them – you take their power away from them and make them weak. Let them do it themselves (with your encouragement and maybe support )And them cheer on them and recognize them for doing such a great jobThis is what this business Is about – empowering people to become strong and independent – nothelping and nursing people to death – every time you do something for someone in your group, that they can do for themselves, you weaken them and take away their power– support them in doing what it takes but don’t do it for them if they can themselves.

6. Make Regular Presentations. If you are really serious about working your business and want to have continuous growth, you should be making at least 2 to 5 presentations each week. These will be a combination of: you presenting to prospects, you helping your new Associates make presentations, you making presentations at group meetings and having your prospects on the weekly conference calls. This is the most important part of your business. Don't get distracted by other duties and ignore this - it's the lifeblood of your business. Remember to dress for success.

7. Not everyone who attends every meeting makes $10k/month, but everyone who makes$10k/month attends every meeting.

8 .The lifeblood of this business is new Distributors and new customers.Constantly be in building mode.

9. Constantly be promoting the next event every time you talk to someone.Be inviting new prospects to Business Briefings, listen to Conference Calls, Showcases, Workshops, etc. The more guests you have at more events, the faster your group will grow. If there are no events in your area, YOU MUST CREATE THEM! Remember - whose responsibility is it to get your business going. (I hope your answer is YOU)

10. Use third-party credibility whenever possible. At meetings, use testimonies from other Distributors to intrigue your prospect. Use three-way calling to invite, and always three-way at lease one new guest onto every conference call.

11. Never leave the house in the morning without at least 2 prospecting tapes/cd’s/dvd’s.And don’t let yourself go to bed at night without handing them out.

12. Take a genuine interest in helping your new Distributor complete every 11 steps of the first 48 hours. If you ensure that these are completed, you have increased their chances of success dramatically. Do at least 30 calls and 10 presentations with them.

13. Extensive industry research has shown that the most significant step you can take to ensure the retention of your new Distributor in the critical time frame of the first 7 – 10 days is to get them business cards immediately.

14. Maximize your Sunday evenings. Do 5-10 3-way calls, and use this time to coach yourdownline. People are usually home this night.

Page 25: Getting Started Right

15. Hold at least one informal get-together every month with your leaders and their key people.Plan strategies, schedules, then eat and socialize. This builds the team dynamic.

16. Record a powerful, intriguing script on your VoiceMail or answering machine.Drop intriguing business cards with your machine’s number around town.Collect other people’s cards everyday.

17. Co-ordinate a “Blitz Night” at least a week before a Major Event.Spend this night together with your entire team, and phone every single name on your hot list, cold list, drip list, chicken list, and invite as many people as possible. Arrange some pre-meetings with the hot ones. With all of you Blitzing together, you can arrange 3-ways, testimonies, and maximum guest attendance.

18. Stay organized.Keep all events, names, numbers and schedules in your day planner. Wherever you are and can find a phone, use it! Constantly be recruiting.

19. Focus your time, energy, and resources on high-payoff activities.Ask yourself: What’s the best use of my time right now? The answer should be “prospecting” andpresenting 90 % of the time. And don’t do it alone at least the first month.Do it with someone who is better than you and let them build your business. This is by far the fastest way to do it.And if you are a leader, don’t let your people do it by themselves in the beginning.

20. Work hardest with people who deserve your time.Avoid the let’s-go-for-coffee-and-smoke-and-chat time wasters.

21. NEVER QUIT NOT MATTER WHAT! Don’t let someone else steal your dream, ever.Trust me - all the trials are worth it when you get to the top, then it seems like it was no big deal. But it is a big deal when you share a sunset dinner with all the other Presidentials andSam Caster on a beach in Hawaii. There is nothing like it.

23. You MUST attend MannaFest (in march) if you are serious about this business.Find out when the next National Training Event is and make plans to attend!

24. Plan on being in Mannatech 20 years from now. What are your real goals? Are you willing to do what it takes?

25. Essential training for leaders.Dissecting, Analyzing and Copying a Network marketing leader. Also look in the appendix for essential and recommended study material.

26. Record your story over the phone.Your story is your most powerful tool. I have set up a service for you to be able to record your story over the phone and have it stored on the internet so you can send it to your prospects as a link. Look in the appendix under Useful Resources for how to do this.

Congratulations.

You have now reached the end of this getting started manual - are you doing every step in it?Then you are one of a kind and you will have success.

If you are not moving fast enough remember that it is your responsibility to ask for support - go as high as possible to get help. You will never regret that you did it.

I want to leave you with a quote from a book that has made a great difference for my coach.I hope you will print it out and put it on the wall in your office and read it often – it has magic powers in it - the more you read it, the more proud you will be of yourself and stronger you will get. I appreciate you and believe in you.

And remember - Don’t just take up space in the world. Go out there and Make a difference.

About my coach who assembled this manual:

Patrick “Unstoppable” Powers 5 star Bronze presidential and founder of Team Unstoppable. He lives in Torrox /Costa del Sol /Spain with his Dog Sophie (Boxer) and the cat Beastie Boy.

I choose not to be a common man. It is my right to be uncommon—if I can.I seek opportunity—not security. I do not wish to be a kept citizen,

humbled and dulled by having the state look after me.

I want to take the calculated risk; to dream and to build, to fail and to succeed.I refuse to barter incentive for a dole. I prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence; the thrill of fulfillment to the stale calm of utopia.

I will not trade freedom for beneficence, nor my dignity for a handout.I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat.

It is my heritage to stand erect, proud and unafraid; to think and act for myself, enjoy the benefit of my creations, and to face the world boldly and say, “THIS - I HAVE DONE”.

All this is what it means to be an Entrepreneur. This is what it means to say YES TO LIFE.
