Key communication skills with persons with Limited English Speaker• Listen carefully

• Make your statements as specific as possible

• Let the person see your lips as you speak

• Don’t rush – be patient

• Use simple sentence structure

• Use body language to illustrate

• Use the vocabulary that the client has used

• Emphasize key words

• Make sure the client understands by having them restate what you said

• Use Pen and Notebook
