National Youth Leadership Training® (NYLT) is a week-long leadership training course which teaches skills needed by an effective leader. Scouts hone their vision, leadership, communication

and outdoor skills—then apply the “EDGE” model to sharing leadership. NYLT is not summer camp, but an intense, challenging leadership experience. Boy Scouts must be at least 13 years old, have completed seventh grade by first day of the course, and be at least a First Class Scout. The course is also open to Venturers.

Join us for our one of two opportunities for NYLT:NYLT @ Camp Pico Blanco; and, Bristlecone NYLT at Camp Chesebrough.

Mountain Man Rendezvous at Pico Blanco guides youth through the sites and sounds of a typical Mountain Man Rendezvous held

in western locations between 1825 and 1840. Test your skills at throwing a tomahawk, sawing and splitting logs, fire starting with only a flint & steel, shooting black powder rifles and showing off with a bow & arrow!

Units may opt to pitch modern tents Friday night in the main camping upon arriving Friday night. Alternatively, they may pitch traditional tipis

and canvas tents in a special “primitive camping area,” where participants wear period clothing and cook with Dutch ovens and frontier tools.
