IMPORTANT INFORMATION

If you want to learn more about creating a budget, contact us and we will be happy to assist.

When creating a budget, ask yourself the following questions:

• Do I spend more than I make?

• Do I pay myself last and have yet to establish an emer-gency fund?

• Do I charge pur- chases instead of saving for them?

Creating a budget will decrease stress for better health, free up time so you can do things you en-joy, and give you more control over your finances.

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, you may benefit from creating a blueprint for your personal finances.

Here are three steps you can follow to create an effective budget.

1. Establish your goals. Where do you want to be financial-ly six months from now, a year from now, and even five years from now? Develop a list for your short, medium and long-term financial goals.

2. List all your income and expenses. Give yourself a better understanding of what’s coming in and what’s going out. This will help you to balance income and expenses.

3. Create a manageable budget and remember to pay yourself first. Identify any spending leaks and take steps to correct them, and remember when paying yourself first, include an emergency savings plan as part of your budget.

Holiday shopping can be difficult, but we have some tips for your shopping that can relieve your holiday anxiety.

1. Value your relationships. Determine who you plan to give gifts to - then put a dollar figure next to each person. Setting price limits helps you keep your holiday budget on track.

2. Price check your gift list. If you find a gift that’s over your budget, shop around to see if you can find a better price elsewhere. Many stores have price-match policies.

3. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t wait until the last minute. Rush shopping can cause you to overspend.

4. Know the truth about Black Friday and Cyber Mon-day shopping. Studies have shown that there isn’t a huge difference in one-day promotions, like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Focus on event-style sales that offer deals every day.

5. Consider making gifts. Homemade presents are a great way to save money while creating something memorable. These gifts won’t work for everyone, but they are a good option.

6. Save up for expensive presents. Set aside money for big-ticket items by establishing a Holiday club account. This will help you save money, and when you are ready to shop the money is there for you.

If money is tight during the Holiday season, consider a Dutch Point Holiday loan. We offer great rates and flexible terms to match your budget. If you need a Holiday loan -- contact us we are here to help.
