Get Involved!
To coincide with Homelessness Week, we’re
collecting NEW beanies and socks to give some
comfort to those who are homeless.
All donations will be given directly to the St Vincent
de Paul Society and distributed by their Vinnies Van
teams when serving the homeless.
You can bring your donations to AM church or
breathe from Sunday17th July.
The Wentworth Point community will be involved
too so look out for the flyer coming soon.
As we look ahead in this new season at Bayside
PRAY that we will take the time to see people and the world through the lens of God’s love and grace. PRAY for open doors—physical and spiritual—to the communities we are connected with PRAY for a fresh expression of the Holy Spirit wherever we gather—at Sunday AM, breathe, life groups…. PRAY for our leadership and the wider church to be leaning on God-inspired wisdom. GIVE THANKS for the appointment of Ola as lead pastor. Uphold him as he seeks to understand the essence of Bayside and God’s vision for our church. PRAY for Ola, Ramona and Eniola as they settle in to a new church community and neighbourhood, and life with a new baby and sister. PRAY for the youth of Crosseyed and Priority One to grow deeper in faith through challenging questions and discussions. PRAY for our ministries to children and families like KidZone, KLAG Scripture and mainly music—for our young ones to grow to love Jesus; for opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus; for deepening of existing relationships and opportunities to share our stories.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds
in Christ Jesus” Phil. 4:6-7 (TNIV)
Praying for Bayside
* * * New Bible talk series starting end July * * *
The single thing that can change the world is
the extraordinarily generous love of God.
Our focus will be on the ways God’s generous love transforms our lives
and the way we can reflect God’s extraordinary love to others
when we are generous with our time, words, attention and wealth.
As Christians we are called to love the marginalised and oppressed.
Living by the logic of God’s generous love will help us to change our
world for the better.
It will be great to have the author of The Single Thing, Scott Higgins, kick
off the series on Sunday 31st July at our AM service.
KidZone and Priority One will also engage with the series
in their time together.
WELCOME! We start the morning with everyone together in the school hall.
The first classroom is a crèche space. During school term KidZone (for 2yrs—Year
5) and Priority One (for Years 6-10) commence later in the morning.

In July and August, Breathe will be engaging with a series called
'Where to from here?', focused on the topic of spiritual growth.
We’ll learn about how the early followers of Jesus understood spiritual
growth and ask ourselves what next step God is calling each of us to
embrace in our faith journeys.
Please feel free to get involved in Breathe by joining us for a Sunday
gathering or praying for us as we seek to live the values of Inclusion,
Freedom, Purpose and Power in Wentworth Point.

* Every last Sunday of the month is Exhale, when the Breathe community is
intentional about being the hands and feet of Jesus as best they can - serving the
vulnerable of our city or world, getting involved in the Wentworth Point community,
or investing in friends and neighbours.
Last month, Breathe joined with the wider Bayside community in
exploring our missional purpose. Throughout the month, we looked for
opportunities to respond to God's compelling love by blessing those
around us.
In the first weekend of June, one of
our Breathe members, Dante, invited
us to support the Auburn SES by
donating pizzas and coffee to the
volunteers during a severe storm.
The volunteers were very grateful
to receive the provisions when
they got back to Headquarters
after emergency call-outs
throughout the night!

Connecting with our city and world
Neale is part of a team based in North Asia with a desire to initiate a movement of disciples of Jesus within a minority group in the local area. He’s been living there since early 2013.
May Work was very busy with a lot of new things happening as we prepared for
the first-ever English Department Summer Program. Lots of things to sort
out as it had not been done before by this company. Also the business
network that I am involved in had grown substantially over the last month
as we had guest speakers come to visit from abroad.
June Passed my health check, which was more thorough than anything I have
done in Oz. Of course my blood pressure was a little high after doing a
whole battery of tests in a language I only partially understand…
Lodged my application for a work permit with the labour department. Will
then lodge my final application with the Public Security Bureau to get a
residence permit.
Update from our mission partner Neale

July Hoping to finalise when I might come to visit Oz later this year—maybe
September or November but not sure yet....
Prayer requests
Asking for good conversations and quality time with my friends; that times
with Titus would be fruitful times as he explores the Book and asks questions;
that the Holy Spirit would be at work in his heart and mind.
Asking for His guidance as to how we proceed with the business network now
that the group has more than tripled in size.
My back is ok but still a bit annoying at times. Asking for full healing.
I am very grateful for the support Bayside provides to me
in so many different ways.
Peace and Grace,
Neale

In Term 3 we’re taking a look at clips from popular movies and seeing
what deeper issues are portrayed through a range of characters and
scenes. Ranging from funny to action-packed and of course some that
are absolutely outrageous, these clips are sure to have us diving into
some great topics and discussions.
There’s no doubt Crosseyed this term is going to be fun, challenging, loud and as always...on Fridays!

Monthly budget $16,600
Giving is a critical part of growing in our walk with Christ. When we give to God’s work,
we do not just fund that work, we align our hearts with what God is doing in the world
today and we increase the devotion of our heart to Him. That is what giving is really all
about. (From ‘Secure’ by Rick Dunham)

The Vinnies Van goes to Mt Druitt and Parramatta
every night of the year (except New Years Eve) by
trained volunteers, providing sandwiches, tea,
coffee, soup, biscuits and friendship to those who
are homeless or doing it tough.
Do you have a heart for those who are doing it
tough? Do you like to serve ? Do you like to make
sandwiches? Do you have a couple of hours free once a month?
For the last six years, a bunch of people from the breathe
community have been part of the Vinnies Van team who
serve every 4th Saturday of each month.
If you’d like to be a part of their awesome team (there’s a
half-day of training to complete), please contact Kath
