A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION FOR
WATER AND GAS TREATMENT
The PORTABLECRAC project aims to develop an environmentally friendly and economi-cally viable technology, to regenerate the activated carbon used in small and large indus-try for water or gas filtration.
It will provide a sustainable and long term solution through the adap-tation of a compact device that will significantly improve flexibility, operational and investment costs compared to existing equipment.
THE CONCEPT
PORTABLECRAC is a flexible solution tackling different niches that will allow an in-site regeneration of exhaus-ted activated carbon (AC) by compact/portable proto-types able to adapt to the client’s needs with economic and environmental impacts determined through LCA and LCC analysis.
The PORTABLECRAC approach will focus on the adaptation of electrochemical technology from batch to continuous operational mode. It represents an important innovation compared with existing approaches to thermal regeneration. Additional efforts will focus on scaling up portable prototypes to industrial scale in order to meet client needs.
