Cognizance 2015 Indias second largest technical festival has a multitude of more than 180 events like professional

workshops, exhibitions, international conferences, online events and large-scale technical, management and policy-

making events with global participation from more than 1500 Technical & Management institutes reaching more than

200,000 students, professors & executives

On behalf of Cognizance Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee & Revert Technology Pvt.Ltd. as the host of

this championship, it gives us great pleasure to introduce RoboFeast-2015, A National Robotics championship

on March 2015 at IIT Roorkee. RoboFeast-2015 is sponsored & funded by Indias most prestigious company Revert Technology Pvt. Ltd. RoboFeast-2015 will bring students from all over the country together to

participate in the celebration of knowledge and creative extravagance along with experts from the fields of

academic as well as industry. With technological innovation scaling new heights, RoboFeast-2015 promises to

keep a tab on the advancements and stay in sync with the mood of the times. With the introduction of several

new events, and old ones remodeled, RoboFeast-2015 is all set to create a new benchmark.

This year we are organizing RoboFeast-2015 a National Level Robotics Championship in association with

Cognizance,IIT Roorkee.We are organizing Zonal Rounds of RoboFeast-2015 in total 60 Engineering Colleges

all across India. So we are looking forward to make your esteemed college as Zonal Center for this event.

About Gesture Controlled Robotics (based Accelerometer

sensor) Workshop

A Gesture Controlled robotics is a kind of robot which can be

controlled by your hand gestures not by old buttons. You just need

to wear a small transmitting device in your hand which included

an acceleration meter. This will transmit an appropriate command

to the robot so that it can do whatever we want. The transmitting

device included a comparator IC for analog to digital conversion

and an encoder IC(HT12E) which is use to encode the four bit data

and then it will transmit by an RF Transmitter module.

Course Structure & Projects Covered

Day-1

Introduction to AVR Atmega family Basics of embedded c Architecture of Atmega8 Setting working environment (AVR Studio v.4 , Proteus) Demo practical examples on Proteus First AVR program (led trail, sequence etc.) Burning program into microcontroller Debugging program and setting frequency of microcontroller Peripherals and Interrupts (ADC, Timer and USART) Introduction to ADC registers Programming and studying ADC features

Day-2

Introduction to sensors and their applications

Interfacing sensors to microcontroller

virtual world simulation (Using Proteus)

Basics about Motors and drivers

Introduction to ADXL 335 sensor (accelerometer)

Introduction to Infrared sensor (working and application)

Interfacing multiple sensors on single microcontroller

Projects To Be Covered: -

Gesture controlled robotics kit

Wall follower / Obstacle avoider robo car ( using IR sensor )

Modified MultiPurpose multi ability robots

Robotics Kit Controlled by Hands Movements




Initial Round (To be held at Zonal Centers):

Competitions will be held at different Zonal centers in all over India though Workshop on Gesture Robotics.

All the participants who want to participate in RoboFeast-2015 are required to attend the workshops at any zonal centers.

During the workshop Robotics Kit will be provided by Revert Technology of this event to a Group of 5 Participant at free of cost.

The duration of the workshop will be of 2 Days (7-8 hour each day).

The Workshop will be delivered by Revert Technology Pvt. Ltd.

Second Round (Zonal Round to be held at zonal center):

Just after the workshop a Mega Competition (Prelims Rounds) of by RoboFeast-2015 will be held in Zonal

Center.

Winners will be awarded with Certificate of Merit & are required to participate in Final Rounds which will

be heldon 27-29th March 2015 at IIT-Roorkee.

Third Round (FINAL Round to be held at IIT-Roorkee):

Winners of 60 zonal centers will be called to participate in the biggest final round of RoboFeast-2015

will be held on 27-29th March 2015 at IIT-Roorkee.

Top 3 Teams will be awarded as winners of The RoboFeast-2015 championship & will be awarded &

honored by Cognizance IIT-Roorkee.

About The RoboFeast-2015

RoboFeast-2015 is a National Robotics Championship & Workshop series Jointed by Cognizance IIT-Roorkee

& Revert Technology . All the Preliminary rounds will be held at Zonal Centers across INDIA in present

academic year & the grand finale will be held on 27-29th March 2015 at IIT-Roorkee . This is a 3 Stage Event as

detailed below:

Process guidelines

We want your association to make this event a big success in your college.

A proper publicity will be done about the event at the All India Level. Zonal center can be finalized by telephonic conversation with

Coordinators of RoboFeast-2015, according to the College feasibility

and slots available in our calendar.

The entire event will be conducted at college campus. Each student participating in the RoboFeast-2015 will get a

participation certificate with RoboFeast-2015 & Cognizance, IIT-

Roorkee.

Glimpses of RoboFeast-2015

Event Details The Duration of the Workshop will be of 2 Days (7-

8 hr each day)

A Certificate of Participation will also be awarded to the Participant by RoboFeast-2015 &

Cognizance IIT-Roorkee to each Student.

Requirements

Seminar hall/classroom having the enough

capacity to conduct hands-on-session for all

participants.

Good Quality public address system ideally two

cordless mikes will be required.

Projector/ Screen along with black/white board

for teaching and presentation purposes.

One small stereo jack cord to in laptop for its

sound system.

A Zonal centre can only be arranged for a

minimum of 70 students.

All Engineering, Science, MBA, PhD students and hobbyist of Robotics can attend this event, as Robotics has become the backbone of all the industry needs.

Certification Policy Robofeast-2015

Certificate of Participation from RoboFeast-2015 & Cognizance, IIT-Roorkee to each participant.

Certificate of Coordination from RoboFeast-2015 & Cognizance,IIT-Roorkee for all of the

coordinators.

Zonal Winners will participate in Final Rounds at IIT Roorkee and Get Certificate of Merit Student

from RoboFeast-2015 & Cognizance,IIT-Roorkee

to each Merit Student.

Registration charges

Registration Charges Rs. 1250/- per student only.

The fee includes workshop training, certification, and Event registration and a free Robotics Kit to

each team of 5 members.

Responsibility of an Organizer

Hospitality (2 days) for a team of 3-4 members.

Pick and Drop facility from the nearest railway station/bus stop/ airport.
