    GERUNDS

    A gerund is a noun that is formed adding -ing to a verb..................

    In most cases ,the English gerund is equivalent to an Spanish infinitive

    They can function as:

    1.SUBJECTS

    Reading is my favorite past time.

    Eating junk food is not healthy.

    Cheating in tests is a horrid sin.

    Travelling makes me happy

    Smoking is bad for your health.

    2. OBJECTS:

    As a name it can be the object of a sentence

    I love going to the cinema.

    My friends preferstudying in groups.

    Kids enjoy playing with electronic games. Dont stop working.

    Whats the difference between agerund and a progressive verb?

    Gerund is used as subject or object but the progressive

    is used as a verb.

    Ex:

    Gerund Studying at home requires discipline

    Adam wasworking on his homework untillate.

    Progressive I am drivingfast now.

    I was drivingto my job an hour ago.
