Activity: Redistricting—Democrats/Republicans

1. You will go into four groups (two democrat/two republican). In these groups you will act as political consultants for your party’s redistricting plans.

Rules: There will be seven districts in all when you are finished.

1. The districts need to be adjacent, or next to, one another.2. The districts need to be contiguous. This means that each district should have the same amount of each political party in each district. For example, one district could be D, D, R, R, R; while another could be D, R, D, D, I. The total political population in each district should be five.
