Letters – Ranger Family
Respected Cousin Germanflatts April 25th
1830
It is with pleasure that I now take my pen in hand to let you know we are as much
as well as usual and hope these lines will find you enjoying the same blessing. We arrived safe at
home teusday evening about seven oclock and found the family all well. Since then I have been
at home excepting going to school a few days untill last monday I commenced teaching school
about half a mile from home where I am engaged for the season. Mrs Haymer was at Richfield
visiting when we got home. She came home saturday evening and Cousins Abram and Abigail
came with her. The rest of the connexions were in usual health then I have not heard from there
since.
Since I have commenced writing my head has begun to ache and I much come to a close by
asking your pardon for not writing before and wishing you all health peace and prosperity in this
world and that which is to come give my best love to uncle and Aunt and all my Dear beloved
Cousins and except of the same yourself
yours with respect Azenath FrazierMary Ranger
P.S.
I want you should write soon
I should be very glad to hearfrom you
Respected Cousins I now take pen in hand to inform you of my health which has been
very poor ever since I left you I was confined to the house about two months that I did not go out
the door. I am some better I can knit and sew a little although I cannot sit up all day. I have not
been in the street since I came home except twice last week I rode about a quarter of a mile. He
should I must come to a close by sending you all my best respects with the rest of the family and
hoping you write soon I hope we shall have the pleasure of waiting on some of you here this fall
or winter.

Remember me when far awayOr when your thoughts on pleasure stray
O when you bend the pious knee
O then dear friends remember me
