To strengthen our Talking Robots Group in the research department “Multilinguality and Language Technology” in Saarbrücken, we are looking for a Senior Researcher / Researcher (m/f/d) The research department “Multilinguality and Language Technology” (MLT) in Saarbrücken is headed by Prof. Dr. Josef van Genabith. The Talking Robots Group aims at long-term situated NL dialogue interaction in various application-oriented settings. Your tasks include (a subset or combination of): Designing dialogue processing solutions for low-resource domains; Natural language interpretation and generation in dialogue; Combining rule-based processing and machine learning approaches; Integrated multimodal dialogue system development and testing; Successful collaboration in (geographically distributed) teams; Contribution to scientific publications and research grant applications. Your qualifications are: Degree in computational linguistics, AI, or computer science; Excellent research track record and publications in human-machine dialogue; Very good programming skills, esp. in Java, C++ and Python; Experience with system integration and possibly dialogue system toolkits; Excellent language skills in English and German; High level of self-motivation. The robots shall exhibit behaviours that help to establish understanding and trust for patients and caregivers in the actions of the robotic system. You will work on dialogue processing and esp. the situated speech output planning and realization in this context.
