1. Placement in an internship based on your skills and goals

2. Take language courses geared towards the work environment, work in a placement based on your skills and goals provided by the Goethe Institute, finish with summative language courses

Option 1

Cost• $25 application feenon-refundable• $100 placement feerefundable only if no placement is found for you • BYU tuitionscholarships can be applied• All travel costs• Should the employer provide a stipend, it will not cover all living expenses. Be

prepared to pay living expenses of 750 – 1,500 Euro per month. These may be lower depending on where you work.

• An administration fee of 70 € for our placement agency applies once an internship has been accepted. – paid at orientation

– goes towards work permit waiver.

field(s) • Transcript of courses taken (unofficial) • Copy of your passport • Verification of language abilities by the Germanics

Housing Options

• Living with German students – Most students in Germany live in communal apartments or WGs (Wohngemeinschaft) rented by a group of individuals who share a kitchen and bath.

• Subletting – There are numerous websites/ online newspapers where people advertise rooms to rent.

• Rental Agency – A proportional sum is required by the agency (ca. 100 Euro for 2 months), but it assures that you have a clean room with sheets and towels.

• Universities – Some universities offer rooms to sublet during the summer months (Ferienvermietung, etc.).

Option 2

• 8 weeks• 3 weeks language classes,• 4 weeks at the internship placement• 1 week language class

• 07 May 2007-29 June 2007

• Located in scenic Schwaebisch Hall

Cost

• $25 application fee non-refundable• $100 placement fee refundable only if no

placement is found for you • BYU tuition scholarships can be applied• All travel costs• 2 meals/day• € 2180includes shared room and breakfast

Housing• A peaceful place with a view of the city • A 5 Minute walk from the Institute • Single or double room• All rooms come with a shower in the bathroom and

refrigerator • Telephone and Internet connection possible• One kitchen per apartment complex • Washing machine and dryer available for your use

BYU Credit

• You set up courses you want/need– Choosing the language course option will limit

your options to

• Generally German internship or conversation credits are included

• Required minimum 4.5 credits per term
