Prerequisites for a New Installation

Before you install Geospatial Portal 2016, you must have the following prerequisite products already installed:

.NET Framework 3.5 SP1

.NET Framework 4.0

.NET Framework 4.5.2

Windows Identity Foundation

Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.x or 8.0 and the following features:

IIS-StaticContent

IIS-WebServerRole

IIS-Metabase

IIS-WindowsAuthentication

Prerequisites for a New Installation

9

IIS-ASPNET

IIS-ISAPIExtensions

IIS-ISAPIFilter

WCF-HTTP-Activation

Registering ASP.NET with IIS

If you are installing on Windows Server 2008 R2 you must register the correct version of ASP.NET with IIS.

1. Open a Command prompt window (Run as Administrator).

2. Navigate to %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319.

3. Run the following command: aspnet_regiis -i

4. When the registration completes you can close the command prompt window.

On Windows Server 2012 and later the correct version of ASP.NET should already be registered with IIS. To verify this, use Server Manager to confirm that ASP.NET 4.5 is listed as a role service in the IIS role.

Once you have installed the prerequisites, you can load Geospatial Portal onto your server using the Hexagon Geospatial Setup Manager, as described in the following sections.

To use the Google Maps connector in your Geospatial Portal site, you must sign up for a Google Maps API key at this location: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html). You must have a different key for each domain name on which you will host a Geospatial Portal site using the Google Maps connector, and you must enter the base URL that your site(s) will be hosted on when you request the key from the Google Web site. This key will then have to be included in the portal Web.Config configuration file.

To use the Google Maps connector, you must also agree to and abide by the Google Maps API Terms of Service found at this location: http://code.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html (http://code.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html). Your use may require the purchase of a software license.

Page 10: Geospatial Portal Installation Guide - geo.cmirit.rugeo.cmirit.ru/GeospatialPortalDoc/PDF/Geospatial_Portal... · please read these terms carefully before using hexagon geospatial’s

Prerequisites for a New Installation

10

To use the Microsoft Bing Maps connector in your Geospatial Portal site, you must agree to and abide by the Microsoft Bing Maps licensing and pricing terms found at this location: http://www.microsoft.com/maps/product/licensing.aspx (http://www.microsoft.com/maps/product/licensing.aspx). Your use may require the purchase of a software license.

Windows® Identity Foundation (WIF) is a framework for building identity-aware applications and is a

required prerequisite for the Geospatial Portal components. WIF can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17331 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17331.

For Windows Server 2008 R2, select Windows6.1-KB974405-x64.msu for download. Downloading WIF is not necessary if you are using Windows Server 2012 or later because it is included with .NET 4.5.

Prerequisites for Upgrade from Previous Version of Geospatial Portal

11

Prerequisites for Upgrade from Previous Version of Geospatial Portal

If Geospatial Portal 2015 is the only Geospatial server product installed, then uninstall the old version before you install Geospatial Portal 2016.

If you have any other Geospatial server products installed on the same machine, you must uninstall those products before installing Geospatial Portal 2016. After installing Geospatial Portal 2016, install the other 2016 server products.

The Hexagon Geospatial server products are ERDAS APOLLO Essentials/Advantage/Professional, GeoMedia WebMap Essentials/Advantage/Professional, Geospatial SDI, and Geospatial Portal.

Be aware that some of the configuration elements prepared in the Administration Console, specifically “Maps & Workspaces” and “Search Configuration” may be lost when removing the Hexagon Geospatial 2015 (prior to EP06) products containing the Geospatial Portal component. Therefore before uninstalling the Geospatial Portal 2015 run the Administration Console 2015 Configuration Update executable and follow the instructions on the screen in order to preserve the configuration elements when upgrading to version 2016. After running the tool, you can proceed with the uninstallation the 2015 versions of software and install the 2016 release. The configuration elements will be preserved in the 2016 installation.

To download the Administration Console 2015 Configuration Update tool click here.

The products that require the use of Administration Console 2015 Configuration Update tool include the ones from 2015 release with patch number prior to EP06 that are on the following list:

Geospatial Portal

GeoMedia WebMap (all tiers)

ERDAS APOLLO (all tiers)

Licensing Geospatial Portal

29

Licensing Geospatial Portal

The License Administrator Utility lets you manage all of the software licenses that are available for your machine to review in order to run the Geospatial Portal application that is installed on your machine. Every time you start Geospatial Portal, it searches for a license. If it does not find a license, the application cannot be run. It is necessary to add a license source for Geospatial Portal in order to run the application.

Adding a Nodelocked License Source

1. If you have purchased a nodelocked license for Geospatial Portal, run the Intergraph License Host ID / Show Host ID command on the machine on which you will run the software product. This command is accessible from the Client or the Server menu, or from the Start menu under Intergraph Licensing.

2. When you have the necessary information from the Intergraph License Host ID / Show Host ID dialog box, click Request license from the Intergraph License Host ID dialog box.

3. Go to the Intergraph SG&I Licensing Web site, enter all of the requested information, and obtain your nodelocked license (.lic) file.

4. Place the .lic file in the folder of your choice, and add this folder to your License Navigation Pane by using the Add Nodelocked License Source command.

a. Select the Client > Add Nodelocked License Source command.

b. In the Browse for Folder dialog box, select the folder that contains the nodelocked .lic file that you want to add.

c. Click OK.

5. Geospatial Portal should now run because you have a license.

Visit our licensing Web site https://sgilicense.intergraph.com (https://sgilicense.intergraph.com) to generate or to view your licenses. There are help topics on this page to assist you if you have difficulty in generating or managing your license.

For more information and help topics on the Intergraph License Administrator utility, refer to the Intergraph License Administrator help.

How to Use Google Maps and Microsoft Bing Maps API Keys
