• Founded on Oct. 13th 1885 as the Georgia School of Technology
• First class of 84 students started Oct. 1888
• 1948: name changed to Georgia Institute of Technology
• 1952: Women students admitted• 1961: first university in the Deep South
to admit African -American students without a court order

• GPB has received all undergraduate degrees at GT, served in the military, served on the Board of Directors for MAD Magazine, among others
