In this role, she was responsible for overseeing all aspects of legal and business affairs for Madison Square Garden, including the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers, MSG Networks, MSG Entertainment, the Madison Square Garden arena complex, Radio City Music Hall, and the Beacon Theatre. Prior to joining MSG, Treat served as chief legal officer of New England Sports Ventures (NESV), the holding company for the Boston Red Sox, the New England Sports Networks (NESN) and Fenway Sports Group (FSG). In this role, she was responsible for all legal affairs of NESV, NESN, the Red Sox, Fenway Park, FSG and the Red Sox Foundation. During her tenure, she oversaw the purchase of the Red Sox and NESN from prior ownership, as well as the renovation of Fenway Park. Treat began her career in sports as vice president and corporate counsel for the Florida Marlins Baseball Club, where she was responsible for all general corporate and legal issues for the team. She began her legal career as an associate at Shearman & Sterling’s New York office as a mergers and acquisitions associate. During that time, she managed numerous transactions, including helping entrepreneur John Henry, who purchasedthe Marlins.
