Learning is also about co-curricular activities!Co-curriculars include music and interscholastic sports (basketball,football, soccer, cricket and more), for all skill levels. Clubs include:Drama (Improv),  Leadership (Prefects), Chess, Yearbook, StudentCouncil, Robotics, Fitness, Stage Crew, French, GSA, StoneSoup and Multi-Cultural Club.

EnrichmentPrograms include: Gr.9-11 Enrichment, Leadership, University mathand science contests, and Peer Tutoring. High valueawards/scholarships are presented to graduating students pursuingpost-secondary studies. Dual-credit courses give a high school andcollege credit. U of T STEM Enrichment in Science. Coop andOYAP.

Apply what you learn!Students need a combination of experiences, practical as well astheoretical. We offer students a broad range of programs that allowthem to apply what they are learning. Science competitions,transportation technology, electricity, computer electronics,construction engineering are all available for students to further theirinterest and learning.

Robotics!We have been part of FIRST Robotics Competition for years. Thisallows students the chance to work as part of a multi-disciplinaryteam to build a robot, program it with computer software, andcontrol it wirelessly. Students use the robot to practice carrying outthe tasks in the competition, and work collaboratively with otherteams. What an experience!

Student Life - Where You Belong

Student life at George Harvey is centered on helpingstudents reach their potential. We are a caringschool, offering support to students in all areas.Academically, our strong programs are supplemented byremedial help. We have a strong leadership, literacy andnumeracy focus to prepare students for life after high school,college, work, or university, and co-op programs can givestudents a taste of their field. Caring staff and a focusedgrade 9 program help ease the transition from elementary tosecondary school. We have a dynamic ESL/Newcomersprogram. In addition to academics, George Harvey offersstrong support in all other areas of student life. An extensivesports intramural program allows students of all skill levels toparticipate in a variety of sports, e.g. basketball, soccer,volleyball, badminton. Clubs enable students to explore theirinterests and build new skills. Participation in lunchtime andafter-school programs run by our staff and communitypartners provide our students with the opportunity to expandtheir horizons and become positive contributors tosociety.We at George Harvey focus on the whole student,and student life is the richer for it!
