This led me to investigate and to determine that I also have lacunar knowledge; hidden panels of knowledge. This brings me to the fact that many of us believe we should have more direct associations between all the geosciences. Combining forces would cer- tainly strengthen most groups in the local areas. Is this anything any of you would be interested in? Excerpts from: Houston Geo- logical Society Bulletin Long -Term Energy Outlooks by Ron Waszczak, citing from the EIA (Energy Information Admini- stration) report Annual Energy Outlook 2012. Production: “U.S. domestic crude oil production is expected to grow by more than 20 percent over the next 10 years.” Added production is “projected to push domestic crude oil production to 6.7 million barrels per day in 2020, a level not seen since 1994.” Exports: “The U.S. is projected to become a net exporter of liq- uefied natural gas (LNG) in 2016, a net pipeline exporter in 2025, and an overall net exporter of natural gas in 2021.” If both scenarios come true our industry should see a new boom. “What says your crystal ball?” GSKS council met by telecon- ference call and awarded schol- arships to the following four students on May 1, 2012.
