Revisions since 1980 have incorporated extensive detailed work in the southern region of theReindeer Zone by the Saskatchewan Geological Survey, the Geological Survey of Canada, anduniversity and industry participants under the Federal-Provincial Mineral Development Agreementprograms, the NATMAP program, and the LITHOPROBE program. There are also major revisionsin the Greater Beaverlodge area, the Tantato Domain, and in other areas of the PrecambrianShield. New information for the Phanerozoic region is a result of the high level of industryactivity due in part to horizontal drilling and the diamond play. Kimberlite locations are derived from non-confidential Saskatchewan Industry and Resources Assessment File reports.

Phanerozoic Legend
The graphic log on the left is a generalized section showing all formations present inSaskatchewan.Colour-filled legend boxes denote formations which outcrop or subcrop beneath glacial drift.Formation intervals in the graphic log are not to time or thickness scale.Numbers in epoch and age columns indicate age to closest million years at baseof indicated division, as derived from world-wide radiometric age determinations(Okulitch et al., 1996). Error tolerances arebetween 1 and 4 percent.
Estimated maximum formation thicknessesare given in the text log.
