The Geography of Guyanacomprises the physical characteristics of the country in Northern South

Americaand part ofCaribbean South America,bordering the NorthAtlantic Ocean,

betweenSurinameand Venezuela, with a land area of approximately !",#$% s&uare 'ilometres(

times seem oppressi8e( The entire area is under the influence of the northeast trade winds, and

during the midday and afternoon sea breezes bring relief to the coast( .uyana lies south of the path

of Caribbean hurricanes and none is 'nown to ha8e hit the country(
