Genesis is updating the User Interface! “New Look & Feel” goes live on April 3, 2015 WEBINAR SCHEDULE on Page 10
ON APRIL 3, 2015 Genesis will convert to a new, updated “look & feel” – This represents a cosmetic change in appearance, not a change in how things work.
How will Genesis look after the interface is updated? Here’s a look at the new Login screen (the background photo/design can be customized):
Only Screen Appearance Changes: No Functional Changes
On April 3, 2015 all districts will automatically convert to the new Genesis color scheme.
No functional changes (apart from the day’s normal Genesis Release) will take place.
All buttons will still be located in the same places and still do the same thing.

Quick Search for Students, Course Descriptions and Course Sections

- Students: Enter student ID in the Search field. If the entered ID is a valid student id, the student’s Student
DataStudentDemographicsRequired screen is displayed. - Course Descriptions: Enter a “c.” followed by the course code: “c.15215”. If this is course code, prefixed
with “c.”, the SchedulingCurriculumSchool CurriculumModify screen for the course is displayed. - Course Sections: Enter a “c.” followed by the course code, another “.” and the section #: “c.15215.3”. If
these are a course code and section number, prefixed with “c.”, the SchedulingSectionsModify Section
screen for the course section is displayed.

o vs. - (Lock) – Security: Bring up a “Change Password” and User Profile popup.
o vs. (House) – Go to your Genesis “Home” screen. Settable on the Security popup.
o vs. – If you have permission, bring up the “Jira” online trouble ticket system.
o vs. – Bring up the “Wiki”, the online help system.
o vs. (a screen) - Bring up a diagnostics popup o vs. - Shrink/expand screen header

Thursday, April 2 – 9:30 to 10:30 Please register via the InfoWebinars screen in Genesis.
Enter the student ID, click GO.
Click the Quick Search icon. This brings up the “Quick Search” popup
Now enter the student ID, click Search.

Customizing the Logon Screen for your School District
Your District’s Logon Screen can be customized:
The Lighthouse image will be selected by default.
There are a variety of other built-in Logon screen images you can select.
You can also upload an image unique to your district.
Visit the SetupDistrictsMaster District ParametersLogon Screen to customize your logon image.
The Logon Screen Settings include a number of built-in NJ-themed options besides the “Lighthouse” image:
Select one of the built-in Logon screen images, or select the “Use Custom Image Below” option and upload your own image below.
Upload your own image here. The image can be customized for your district. If you upload an image here, be sure to select the “Use Custom Image Below”” option in the upper part of the screen.
