The books of The Law share the story of God’s grace with man from the beginning of

time through the rescue of the people of Israel from slavery

and their training in the wilderness.

represents the tables containing the

commandments of God’s law for the people of Israel

The historical books share the story of the God’s chosen people - Israel -

from their entry into the promised land through the reign of human

kings to the time of captivity.

represents the books about the land being conquered.

The books of poetry include sayings, songs, and heartfelt

thoughts that express emotion to and about God Himself and His

deep love for people.

God to His people Israel and to their enemies. These books are not in a specific order. The prophets lived during the times

of the kings and the captivity of Israel.

The Gospels are the stories of Jesus’ life on earth, written by 4 men - 2 apostles, 1 historian, 1

who may have been a youth during Jesus’ ministry - about

Jesus’ teachings and practices. They were written from different perspectives to different groups and for different reasons, so the

books are not identical. They tell many of the same stories from different points of view.

Acts of the Apostles

The Acts of the Apostles is the history of the time after Jesus returned to Heaven. It’s

the story of the beginning of the

church. It tells how God graciously provided the opportunity for gentiles

to know Him and be saved from the

punishment for sin.

represents the church.

A menorah is a special candlestick used by the people of Israel to remember God’s work in their lives. The Star of David is a special symbol representing God’s chosen people, the people of Israel.

The flag represents modern day Israel.

The map shows the location of Israel and surrounding countries during the time of the Judges.

The globe reminds us that, after Jesus came to earth, God allowed all of the people of the world to know Him, even though they weren’t part of His chosen people Israel.

Letters from Paul

Paul - a religious leader who came to Christ when he understood that his good works would not rescue him from the sin -

taught Christians God’s plan and expectations.
