Generic Instructors Course (GIC) Summary The ALSG GIC course in collaboration with Immediate Care Training (Ireland) will provide the candidate with the core principles of adult learning, including: The nature of teaching & learning The needs of learners The variation between learners The understanding of the 4-domains of learning The components of all teaching sessions Eligibility Only candidates recommended for Instructor Training from a provider course can attend. e GIC Discussions Adult learning Feedback Lectures Skills Teaching Simulation Assessment Practical sessions Lecture & presentation skills Equipment familiarization Skills teaching with continuous assesment Teaching simulations Facilitating groups Simulation assessment Assessment On the GIC you will be assessed through a mix of continuous assessment. Certification Once you have successfully completed the GIC you are required to teach on 2 provider courses as an instructor candidate (IC), you are then signed off as a full ALSG |/ICTI Instructor. o keep your instructor status valid, you should aim to teach on 3- ourses over a 2-year period.
